Clay before or after AIO ?

I've been using Zaino on my Max for the last 7 or 8 months. I'm happy with it and want to continue. I'd prepped the paint with Meg's DACP and applied Zaino before heading into our Canadian winter deep freeze.

After 6 months of snow, ice, freezing rain and salted/sanded roads, i want to take off the 6 or 7 coats that i'd applied (last coat in september 2004) and start with a fresh clean body for the new coats of Zaino that i'll apply once the surface it properly prepared.

I'm going to use AIO as a cleaner and base for the Zaino application. According to what i've read AIO works great as a base for Zaino ?

Here's the question that i have: do i use the AIO before or after claying ?

Tks in advance for the help,

You should clay right after you wash. Typically I don't even dry the car that well after I rinse it so I can use the water for extra lube for the clay. After you clay then you can get on with the paint cleaning process. Its best to pull out the contamination that you can before you knock the tops off with something that isn't going to fully remove it.

Agreed. Clay while or after washing. Zaino won't stop the clay from doing its job, if that's what you're worried about.

I thought that Zaino had to "be directly on the paint..." for it to have the proper bonding it needs for durability. Anyone have any info on this?

If that is not the case, would it work with the Menzerna FTG?
