Clay and headlights/taillights?

It might just be me but I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't clay your front and rear lights, is this right cause I've been doing this for awhile and then using Plast-x? Any problems with it? Thanks

Yeah, as long as you're not marring things I don't see why you couldn't use clay on them. I use clay and polishes on the lenses of my vehicles and I've never had a problem.

Thanks guys, I had been doing it for awhile with no problems then I thought I remember reading something about not doing it, oh well Thanks again:xyxthumbs

Now this is why I love my Armorglove!

Never have to worry, just a quick QD and I'm good!

I was kinda of figurin that, I always hear about them but to be honest never have seen one in person is it very noticeable and what about the transistion from film's edge to the paint is it obvious. Thanks Deanski

I've got it on my SC430.

Front bumper/air-dam, headlights, fender wings, rocker panels, hood, side mirrors and door cups.

It's easier to see on light cars than dark.

See my Armorglove here:

I had to highlight the edge where it ends on the hood with a glaze otherwise it's hard to pickup.

Worth every penny!!!

Got stoned very first day I took delivery

One nice thing with Armorglove is that they wrap the hood under the edges so only seam is where it ends going up.

On headlights this stuff is fantastic! I don't have to worry about the lenses getting sandblasted like my company car now has on its lenses! If they get bad, I'll have them remove it and throw on another one. If I want to remove ALL of the glove, a heatgun and off it comes.

Does NOT change paint in the way of UV at all. Passes UV so all paint looks same for age.

All high-end cars in our area are done by this companies home office here in CT. They do a fantastic job!

Worried about sand/rocks? Get "GLOVED" and worry no more!

You can also look at Xpel, Stoneguard etc.

Yep, wax/sealant the entire car, glove and all.

Makes no difference as long as you keep polish away from it.

I have a few scuff markes from entering/exiting the car, but glad it's on the film and not on the paint finish!

On other time, I wiped too damn hard with a MF on the hood and put a small defect in it. Plastix did nothing for it. It's very soft stuff forgiving when stones hit, but not so if you wipe hard. It was just me being a tool that afternoon... forgot the QD spray on the film.

If you go to these paint film sites, most say it's OK to wax over it as it does not yellow. Armorglove has a lifetime warranty!

I highly recommend it even if it's just for headlight protection! You can get a do-it-yourself kit, but I honestly tell those that consider it to have the installer/pro do it as they have the tools and expertise.

And yes, you can clay away headlight covers. With or w/o film!

Deanski
