Clay Advise

this question is from a newbe. Since I have started my business as part time, Friday afternoons and weekends, my question centers around Claying. How long after I clay a car can I wait to apply cleaner, wax and etc. Example: If I wash and wax a car late Friday afternoon can I apply the finish Saturday morning.

Here is a little more information on clay if you are interested. I don't know how much you know about it, but every little bit helps when you are learning I have found.

I would just suggest that after you clay the car that you wash it again. Claying will leave all kinds of interesting drips on the car that you really don't need to let sit there overnight. It will be easier to wash off right after you do it than if you wait. That being said, you should make sure that the car is still clean and dust free before you polish it. If it is just overnight and the car is in a garage, then dusting it off with a dry microfiber will do the trick. Likely there isn't enough dust to worry about. If you are leaving it outside then you may want to either QD it or wash it again. Personally if I knew I was going to have to wash the car three times before the job was done then I would wait and do the claying when I had time to do everything at once.

Thanks after thinking about it you are right added work is not what you are looking for when you have more than one to do.

Anything immediately after claying is fine. Cleaning is best right after, or a QD.

Sorry, I missed J's post. What he said.
