MDetail

The DETAILS count. ;)
So about a month ago I decided to tackle this project.

I thought it was going to be a project, not impossible. As I was polishing the car, I kept bringing out more and more knicks, small deep scratches, and other junk. I knew it had a bunch of scratches, I didn't know it had that many. Along with the clear coat failing on the hood, front and rear bumper falling off, bunch of dents, well let's just say its going to take more than polishing to get it how I want it. Anyways the headlights were the best part so thats all im going to show.

Moose Cutting Cream on Cutting Pad

(I probably should have kept working on the driver headlight since there were more divets. But I didn't want to go too far.)

I think it was $9. But DACP, SSR2.5/3 should work fine. I have used SSR3 before, and then toned it down after. Use your favorite cutting compound.

I've used Blue Moose for stuff like that in the past, it really does an excellent job. Great for the melted boot marks on Harley pipes too.

I will have to remember that for my dad's bike.

Just the first picture that came up

MEG-W7000.jpg

It goes with a Dual Action Polisher, such as the PC7424 or Meguiars G100

thanks for the picture. nice work by the way, i just need to do the same for my GF honda accord. I show her your work and she wanted me to do the same with her car lol...

cajunboy,

The cutting pads for another manufacturers' product line may be a different color. Meg's uses a burgundy color for their cutting pad, but as an example, Lake Country and Sonus SFX use yellow for their cutting pads. You can't (unfortunately) go just by the color, as there's no real industry standard that I'm aware of.

Just FYI,

I did a 2000 wet sand, then polish with 3M on wool pad before. Came out real nice too. Great Job!

Thanks for adding that in, I should have mentioned it. This was with the propel v2 cutting ad from exceldetail.com

I was thinking about wetsanding. But if you don't have to, why spend the extra time? In this case I didn't need it.
