I can't believe this!!! I just moved to Calgary, Alberta and was talking with some people at work. They were commenting on how clean my truck was and I mentioned that I enjoy washing and taking care of it. Then someone tells me that the city has a by-law in place that states that you can't use soap to wash your car in your own driveway!! I nearly freaked! So I check the city's website and sure enough its true! Calgary won't allow the use of ANY kind of soap - not even bio-degradable - to wash a vehicle, only straight water other than at a car wash. Apparently they are concerned about algy growing in the sewer systems. I'm not sure what to do (and moving isn't an option). I just can't belive this *$%# is actually true....
To make this even worse, Calgary has a huge amount of dust in the air - daily dusting is an absolute must. I'm really concerned about scratching.
Oh, and the cherry on top is the fine for getting caught is $500 - $3000 for a FIRST offense!!!
