I credit you for my success.
Several weeks ago I posted a question about detailing and removing swirls on a white car, you responded with excellent product information and solid advice. I’ll preface my success story by saying I am no expert, this is only what worked for me…worked very well.
Paint was in great shape other than swirls and some minor scratches, no need to clay. PI3rc w/polishing pad on a PC definitely removes swirls, although, DACP seems to be a better product by breaking down quicker, not splattering as much and once the product breaks down, if you keep buffing, it will do some fantastic work. After this step I went over the car w/#82 and a polishing pad. I could not see any hazing from the PI3rc/DACP, which is a good thing b/c #82 did nothing. I followed that up w/AIO, a truly great product, cleans, protects, easy on & easy off. Then KSG - tried to put it on thin, but on white it’s tough. I feel that there are too many other glazes out there that buff off easily…no more KSG. Finally, PCW and done!
Granted the car is white (hides flaws very well), but to notice any imperfections now, you would have to put your nose on the paint. As happy as I am with the results, I’m not sure all the steps were necessary. The only product that did anything noticeable was the PI3rc/DACP, it removed swirls/scratches and polished very well. I’m not sure that I’ve could not have gone from here straight to PCW for protection, skipping the cleaners, sealants and glazes. I dunno.
I tried to attach some pics, but I seem to be doing something wrong. I’ll keep trying.
Special thanks to JDookie and Scottwax, very willing to share their knowledge.
