Cigarette Lighter Problem

I'm currently working on a 98 nissan 200sx that the lighter does not work.. i checked the fuses and they are fine.. any ideas???

Does it have an inline fuse? Is it clean inside? Do you have a voltmeter so that you could check if it's hot? Are you using the actual lighter or trying to use the socket for an accessory? If you are using the actual lighter perhaps the element is burned out.

if fuse is good, voltage is good then ..

make sure the sercuring tabs on the inside are not pushed in .. if they are pushed in too far it will not hold the lighter

Or, check the back of the plugs, I know on my maxima that you can put them in in an oposite direction and it won't work.

Hello everybody.

I'm writing to get some good hints about how to solve my problem.

I'm having a problem to charge my new tom tom. I have an old car, a 1999 Nissan Maxima and its cigarette lighter is not working.

I didn't check the fuses yet. Supposing that the fuses is not the cause, but the lighter is it, where can i find a spare part for that 1999 Nissan Maxima.?

I apologize if my english is not clear. I moved from Italy to US some months ago.

I hope to hear from you soon.

:think::thx
