Chrome and Black trim

I recently got a 99 Mitsubishi Galant and it has a lot of chrome trim and of course the regular black trim.

I just was curious what products you guys recommend to keep the chrome and black trim shining and what would you use to apply it? (OTC only please since I already placed my orders online)

The trim is like this:

Some of it is a bit rusted here and on the trunk. That same type of chrome is around the windows.

Bump, anyone know what I could use and what applicators? I was thinking to use back to black for the trim but I don't know what to use for the chrome.

You have to be careful with the chrome trim. Most of the time they are just chrome plated plastic. The back to black for trim as an OTC would be a good start. As for the chrome you could use mothers chrome polish with a micofiber and it should do the trick. Some other good metal polishes would be Flitz, and Wenol. I would stay away from Never dull and Extreem for the coated plastic applications, as the mineral spirts used to keep the wadding moist may actually remove/dull the chrome coating.

i used back to black product in my black trim and it gave me good result. for chrome trim i use klasse sealant on it but since this ain't an OTC product forget it then. Try Megs product for your chrome.

Thanks for the reply, how would I know if it's fake? I assume it is since it's a Mitsubishi lol

Most of the vehicles made today with chrome trim is coated plastic. Heck even some of my Cadillac Escalade chrome is coated plastic.

This isn't OTC...but I'd use the Klasse twins on both surfaces, that's always been the best approach for me.

Collinite's 845 works well on both too, and their 476S paste is good on chrome and almost always good on black trim.
