Could be, and KAIO works pretty well on (not-too-severe) oxidation on these pieces anyhow.
At the risk of sounding like I'm :argue with Ron, I just don't get the big need for "tooth" when OptiCoating. I mean...we're not talking about the surface of a mirror, or even (perfect condition) chrome plating here (though my Tahoe wheels come close); these trim bits have a fair bit of texture to begin with. Not like "regular LSP stuff" doesn't stick to normal anodizing just fine, so I can't see the coatings having a problem.
OC seems to stick on glass and remain durable. I'd think glass has less to key onto than a metal finish which is aways very rough (under magnification). Even chrome is slightly porous and needs sealing.
