I was a Little worried about how the prep would turn out but I did not need to. They did a pretty good job. I have already did some 303 on the interior. The outside will have to wait for some warmer weather. For the time being I will probably just do some Klasse twins and LSP and wait till spring. There looks to be minimal to no micro marring present at all. Any way here for your enjoyment( she drive better then she looks.

Klasse will hold you thru the winter. the second picture is a killer!!
 
Ouch. That kinda sucks. My mom's business partner left two days ago to kentucky to pick up his yellow Z06 straight from the factory (he didn't want to pay a destination charge lol, plus he got a personalized tour of the factory). He's going to drive it all the way back to boynton beach florida. Are the Z06's the same type of break-in, aka no 55+ mph driving? if so, that's going to be a long trip.
 
yes same thing and btw you pay the destination charge the same way if it was delivered only they drive it across the street. It still cost 800. The weather sucks this time of year I would not personaly want to make the trip. A lot of people ignore the break in period. i bet he will not do 55 miles or under for 500 miles

Yeah, the destination charge is fixed by the government for every state. It used to not be that way, though, and getting a car in its original state would yield lower charges. At least that's as much as I know...



Too bad, as it would be cheaper here in MI!;)

If the dealer puts a glaze and any product with fillers on a new car, isn't it possible that the marring, etc. will just show up when the products wear off?

Possible... but remember this is a brand new car. The dealer probably didn't instill THAT many swirls, or that much marring. My bet, honestly, is that AIO applied with a PC would take the marring right out on a brand new paint surface like that.
 
I must not have been very good this year, I know I am not getting an '06 Vette. :sadwavey:

Ya, I have been a very bad boy if it means that i would get a vette for christmas. a very bad boy. :LOLOL
 
The whole recommended breakin thing, especially when you care about performance cars, is supposively not actually the best thing you can do for it. Something about when it's brand new being the only time for the piston rings to settle right or something, and that you should actually step on it - a lot - to encourage such activity.

Personally, I'd think the RPM would matter more than vehicle speed... So as long as it's not revved very high, 55mph doesn't make sense

Excellent point.... I've heard similar, too. In fact a guy I know has owned multiple performance cars, and he's "dropped the hammer" on every single one of them the minute he takes delivery. They all run the best of any of the hi-po cars I've been around :cool:



His most recent purchase was an 03 Cobra, he came by on his way home from the dealership with it and left a nice cloud of smoke and rubber trails in front of my house :rofl
 
it is a manual I am not an auto person, Supposedly the low speed is to break in the differential not the engine which needs little break in ( they also use Mobil onebright from the get go which would hinder break in if you needed it.) I am famialer with that site. He is talking about motorcycles and does not have a an engineering degree I would take what he says with a grain of salt. other then being impaitent I do not think waiting will hurt anything. Plus the weather sucks (not as bad as the NE but still cold and not sports car weather)

I inspected the car under the flourescents in the garage the finsish looks fine. In the spring I may use some Ps21 apitn cleaner or some optimum before I re Klasse it. Probably could use a clay too but I think it is too cold even in the garage to do it now.

I was a pretty good boy this year so Santa knew I deserved it wink wink :drool: :grinno: :grinno: :dance
