Choosing pads for Flex 3401

So, as i'm waiting for christmas deals to buy a Flex, I still can't decide what pad system would be best. In any case, I would love some input from other members on experience with certain pads and overall versatility of them :)

My choices, (at the moment, subject to change :) )

- 5.5" Lake Country Hydro-Tech Pads
- 5" Lake Country Hybrid Pads

5 inch Hybrid pads - hands down.

They are exceptionally smooth on the 3401 and slightly more durable than Hydro-Tech pads.

I really like the Constant pressure CCS pads. 5.5 inch ones I can get away with doing almost any job using Orange, white, and red. And red is only for jeweling or waxing

Constant Pressure 5.5 Inch Hi-Gloss CCS Foam Pads

Noted, thanks :)
Usually i'm no fan of CCS pads but i'll consider since its a entirely different machine.

Would I need to purchase the 4" backing plate or would the 4 3/8" work?

The 4-3/8" backing plate will work great. I have that backing plate on my Flex 3401VRG and have used it for years like that.

I have always used flat pads, and am used to them, and have had great success with the. I would also agree with the L/C Hybrid pad for this over the L/C Hydro-Shreds. They Hydro-Shreds are really great - Cyan and Tangerine are the ones I use the most, but they do tend to start shredding after awhile. so you have that to deal with.

Good to know :) happy I don't have to spend another $50-60 bucks on the backing plate system just to use 5" pads.

Yeah from all the pages Iv'e sorted through, I think i'll go with the 5" Hybrid pad system ... Now all I have to do is wait for a flex sale... :)
