Chips behind rear wheels?

Hey guys - I just picked up a new e92 M3 and have had the car for about 1800 miles. I thought I took all the necessary precautions, getting a clear bra on the front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors. However, while washing the car the other day, I noticed that there are several small chips on the rear bumper right behind the rear wheels. It isn't excessive at this point, but still surprising, being that I haven't even driven the car for very long.

My question is, is there any way to repair / buff these out and get the bumper back to new condition? Or will this ultimately require a full repaint? I'll try to capture some pics for you guys, but the area might be difficult to photograph.

Thanks for the help

This is very common simply because of rocks being kicked up by the tires and thrown at the bumper. Something like Dr. Colorchip might help, then consider applying a film there as well. Even then it will likely get torn up and need replacement after a year or two.

Was the rear bumper repainted at the port? I never had an issue like that on my BMW - and I have had a bumper repaint.

No, never repainted that I'm aware of. The actual area the chips are in is at the very bottom of the bumper, closest to the rear wheels, so it might be hard to catch without looking for it.

i would get a clear bra there. it should be really easy since that bumper has it's own line before it meets the quarter panel, so you can easily follow the line and it would be mostly unnoticeable. the only part that would be tricky and possibly visible would be cutting it off on the rear bumper. i'm sure a pro could figure something out. personally, i would get it repainted before applying any film though. film is expensive so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to put it on paint that wasn't in tip-top shape.

i have a 2012 camaro and got the rear gills clear bra'd...basically the area right in front of the rear tire. that part of the car sticks out and it's very common the rocks are kicked up from the front tires and thrown back there at a very high speed. it looks pretty good since the installer also followed the body lines.

Sorry for the delay in my response guys, but now that the weather is nicer I would like to move forward in getting these areas repaired. Do you think it will require a full repaint of both rockers and the rear bumper or could they possibly spot repair these areas. I was going to shoot an email to my BMW dealer and see if they could help me out here, seeing as the car is basically brand new.
