Chip Repair Problem..

I wet sanded[2000 grit] some paint chips last weeks

and did something wrong. I went outside the chip area a little

and produced a little hazing or clouding from the abrasiveness

of the sandpaper around the chip.

I tried glaze and wax but still see the haze at certain angles.

Does anyone know how to buff out this haze to match rest

of paint job?

You didn't do anything wrong.... 2000 grit sandpaper is supposed to leave hazing. You need to go over it with an abrasive polish like 3M SMR or Finesse IT to remove the scratches left behind by the 2000 grit.

Yep,

no panic : just polish away the haze:xyxthumbs

What is 3M SMR? What does the SMR stand for...thank you. How about using 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. Thank you.

Glazes contain many "fillers" that will fill in scratches and make them less noticible. But they will in no way polish or remove the haze. You should use the SMR, that should take care of the haze. Don't use the IHG.

Yep, just polish away with SMR, I did that and it made the clear coat on my touch-up glimmer. I can definately see a spot where I touched it up, but I don't expect much with silver.
