Is any one test and evaluate the new DA 21mm from chnia.
1- AnsiAuto model j0560, I'm aware of this DA will be released in March.
2- shine max DA-900/L21.

How these could be compared to Rupes 21, what are the cons & pros

Thanks

if the price is right, they will sell. something tells me the durability/quality factor will be the downside as usual.

I agree Rupes will be the Champion; but see how many products we have from China? Also, as all of us know we like the Meg DA G110V2 which is manufactured in China and I love to use it every time. The question is how these DAs could be compete with Rupes.

Ok...

Let me chine in here. Being lumen whore, aka big into LEDs an lighting especially torches I can tell you this first hand. Just because something manufactured in China doesn't mean it's bad. On that note lets get to it, the genuine brands that are manufactured in China usually have a much better quality control and failures are few an far between. For example two torches may look the same but the output maybe almost half due to crappy drivers an off color leds. The same will most likely be for these fake rupes, faulty cheap parts, weak under powered motors and I'm sure heat will be an issue. I wish these knock off companies the best of luck but in the end they never survive... You always pay for cheap twice...

They will continue to survive (or just go bankrupt and start as a new company) because there are enough people (more born every day) that shop by price alone so a steady supply of customers to bilk now and in the future. There is a milk limit at which mainstream pricing gets closer to the knock off pricing so they just look for another area to follow a similar trend. Witness the Flex light discussion.

I saw that, I don't know the quality of the flex light so I can't say for certain. What I do know is I always tend to buy a manufacturer that specializes in that area. If you want to do the job right always seek out the best. The best way to describe it is like buying a watch. You have these cheap luxury watches from Ralph Lauren or Gucci, when you want a watch you go get a movado with real movements in it.

While I don't own a Rupes, I've heard many stories of praise for them. But, it is the damn price that keeps me from joining this group. So, will I buy a knock-off? Depends, I'll sit on the sidelines and let somebody else try them out first. IF - big if, they seem to be ok, then yeah, I'll go the knock off route.
FYI - I wasn't always this way, I use to believe in lables and brand names and such. But, I've seen too many times where part x that was made in BFE, is actually used in high end and low end products. Heck, Sears sold my buddy a washing machine (Whirlpool) and when it crapped out (1.5 years later) he decided to "fix" it, after tearing into it, he fould Fridgerdare on half the parts--WTH, and the Sears sales guy had told him to avoid that brand!
Let's wait and see, maybe ol Ru-pee will lower prices.

Just buy it second hand the honestly. I think out all my machines I've bought maybe one new.

Flex pe14-2 - price 287 place ebay vs 400
Flex 3403 - 195 ebay vs 300
Flex 3401 - 25 forums vs 375
Metabo rotor - 130 craigslist vs 300
Hitachi sp18va - 65 ebay vs 185
Dodo juice spin doctor - 180 uk - new
Rupes 21 + bps - 375 forums vs 450+
Crspotless dic20 - 100 cg vs 400
Tecnovap steamer 8 bar - 105 vs 1429!

Look around!

My feeling telling me Rupes presents the high quality products but also the new DA from China could be offer something new. I think there is no way to know until they come to US market to find out. I'm looking forward to see how we will response to them.

It is what it is. My thought is you have to figure out when to go cheap & when not to. If you can deal w/ vibrations & other issues, then go for it. Like on a few car forums I'm on, guys want to lower their car & use the stock shocks/strut w/ a 2''+ drop. Do it right or don't do it. Yea, the rupes duetto is about $100. to $150. more then a GG6/pc/megs110v2, but isn't a smooth running machine worth it?

I've heard Griots is coming out with one of these units. If and when they do I will buy one to kill my curiosity and for their awesome lifetime warranty

I've heard this also, but it's impossible to get any information out of Griot's customer service. The MaxShine unit looks like a Griots product.

The MaxShine website looks pretty much like a detailing supplier website and it's interesting to note the MaxShine 21mm machine uses standard interchangable backing plates.

I already have the real deal, so I'm in no hurry

:notme:

Is any one know when Griots will introduce this machine to our market. Also, do you heard about flex developing a new DA bigger than 21mm.
