Chicago Area Autopians Post Here

no worries though. . .what ever car I get, you know it will be clean as a whistle!

Who's going to make the Susan G. Komen Ultimate Drive when it hits Chicago?

In my case....

9/11 - Orland Park, IL

9/12 - Schererville, IN

I signed up for transport duty between Orland and Schererville.

I know it's a ways off but it's be cool if we Chicagoans would do a meet at the Auto Show in February to kick off the meet calendar for 2004. Who's up for that idea?

I love the autoshow. Infotunately ,it'll be too cold to have a cleaning day. I'll be there, given the schedule of course. . .

any word on your 03 Maxima? It looks like I'm getting a free hand me down, my aunt is moving out of the country, and I'm taking her Buick Century! eeks! from a WRX to a century. . .what a shame. . .

Hi!!!

I had my car detailed by David not too long ago and he did a great job. My car looked awesome and now I want to become a detail-a-holic too. I have a craving for that deep gloss shine everyday now.

Are any more meets planned? How about a "Show the noobs what the hell to do" meet??? I probably don't know the first think about applying wax or polishes. I have read the material on here, but learning first hand is so much better.

Matt

get together with david in the mean time until there's another meet...from the looks of his work, he has a good grasp of the autopian knowledge that he can share first hand with you...

thanks for the kind words (again!) matt! let me know when you want to get together, and I can show you what I know. There's another scooby guy (beside kg/Ccm 2 in his WRX) Bwana, that just started coming to the meets in his sweet white SVX. Between the 2 of us and this board, you'll learn alot.

North side of the loop (Chicago) :xyxthumbs

Been detailing (my own cars) for YEARS. Althought in my earlier days I recieved pay:D

:welcome razmo.

you should come out to a the weekly subaru meets in schaumburg on thurs nights, in the borders/starbucks parking lot (across the street from woodfield)

all cars are welcome. I got bwana to show up a few times. . .

Let's do it. We should have set something up for this week since the weather was gorgeous. Oh well, who would have known that it would be 75 in October. I am totally up for it.

Matt

hey all. . .i've been out of town and reallt busy these last 2 weeks, that's why I haven't posted much lately.

I'm in the process of selling (sold actually) my car and buying a new one (well, really a used replacement vehicle) plus school started and such.

I'm thinking of looking at a used 2003 yellow :D cavalier with bling chrome factory wheels for dirt cheap from a dealer (it pays sometimes to get in with a salesguy. . .well see tomorrow. the only thing I don't like is that it's a automatic. . .

I've also been detailing cars this week. Pics to come soon. I did a WRX with a Carbon Fiber Hood on Thurs and today I did a 95 Taurus. Pics will come soon, as I temporarily left my camera in california, but fortunately my aunt was also visiting in cali and should bring it back any day now. I bought a throw away camera for today's detail (taurus) but still have a few shots left, as it got too dark to get a final pic. I'll be detailing the cars in the same family as the taurus on tuesday, so more pics will come. . .

Hey David!

Did the A4 fall through?? That sounded like a good alternative. Good luck with the replacement car search. I saw a Toyota MR-2 today and thought of you.

Also washed my car and added another coat of P21S. Looks purty.

Matt

Hey Chicagoans, I was thinking that we should start getting things together if we are interested in going to the NAIAS and if we are planning a meet at the Chicago Auto Show in February.

Hi guys

I notice that some of you are from the schaumburg IL area.

I was wondering if one of you could tell me the place where I can wash my car by myself, because I dont like those machine wash

:D.

thx

When I live in Schaumburg I used to go to the then Shell (now a Citgo) coin op c car wash on Roselle and Thorndale (Elgin Ohare Expressway). It's the south side of Schaumburg, near Roselle.

Then there's the Busy Bee coin op on Golf and Algonquin.
