Hey guys, first of all this wasn't a full paint correction all though this customer really needed it. He just wanted it cleaned up a bit, protected and waxed. After winter he said he will do the full paint correction. That's gonna be a job. Anyways process was

OPS via white pad @ 1000-1200RPM

#26 by hand



Didn't get any interior after pics but came out great with the tan interior. Used APC and hot water on mats with Rotary brush attachment. Cleaned leather and then conditioned.

Now a few afters. I know the tires and wheels aren't done, I did that when I got back to the customers office so it would look best.

WOW just for a cleanup detail that looks very impressive . Can´t wait to see the pics for the full detail .

Looks like a lotta orange peel on there. I would suggest (tell me if im wrong guys) putting sone Souveran on it because it will reduce the orange peel. But its not very durable. Plus it looks great on black cars.
 
It looks fantastic just for a quick cleanup. OPS really cleaned up the truck well.



That paint correction job looks like some fun.

YOUR WRONG

a wax will not reduce orange peel





don't you hate that water that drips out of the mirror(like in the last pic)

some compressed air or a leaf blower will help to get that water out of there
 
O ok, i thought i read somewhere that it had a filling property or something that made it even out the paint or something, o well i guess i was wrong.



And year i COMPLETELY AGREE! i hate the water that leaks out. Im seriosly considering getting a leaf blower for that reason.
 
yea I noticed after I took the picture, I just opened the door and the blew it out then wiped it. Came out fine. After the full correction I will be able to take care of most of the orange peel. As matter of fact this guy just called me not too long ago and has 5 other cars for me. He wants the same package on those cars as I did on this Tahoe. Love getting calls like this. #26 really does a good job on black for me.

Unfortunately the only way to reduce OP is to wetsand the car. The only thing that fillers in any product such as NXT or others will help with is slight scratches and swirls.



Great work btw! Looks great for a cleanup, I actually have a couple of those to do and I'm dreading the full exterior come spring time because I know these customers use snow brushes on their paint all throughout the winter...
 
I have a black tahoe also and the paint had a lot of Orange peel. I had it wet sanded and it came out great. i feel bad for the 2 guys who did it, it took them over 30 hours to do it but it was worth it. They were able to get the peel out of the clear coat, but the base coat still has some minor peel. It is much better than alot of vehicles on the road. The only problem is i am getting swirl marks back in the paint from everyday usage. I have been using zaino by hand to protect the car and get the light swirls out and it works fairly well, but it isnt flawless. Should i use ZPC to fix the deeper swirls and if so what brand pad do you recomend. Has anyone else had problems with this paint? this is by far the worst of all my cars to keep the swirls out of. I am probably the only one who notices the swirls, but it bothers me. Any info would be great.

Car looks great. I would recommend a mild polish and a orange pad followed up with a finishing polish and a white pad. Hope that helps and the SUV looks great.
