Chemical warfare strikes Mercedes

John,

I have always wanted one of these, and the price is pretty darn good.

My questions:

Have you tested to see if you just glazed the paint how much that improves the gloss?

Suppose you just use LSP and tested?

suppose you fully corrected the paint, how much improvement over the above two?

What I'm wondering is if burnishing the paint really helps?

Can a client discern the difference between different methods, vs. properly corrected paint?

Cheers,

GREG

Great questions Greg. I have not tested a glaze, but imagine that it would diminish the gloss just like an LSP will when first applied. I have tested the gauge after SIP, then after Super Finish (106) and it did show quite an improvement. I think properly corrected paint will actually show a higher reading than a polish with fillers like 1Z Metallic Polish.

great work!

my step dad had a single stage blazer and he wet to a self serve car washes and instead of spraying the soap he sprayed the engine cleaner on it and got the same effect as the benz.

i hate single stage paint i had a wrecked/poorly repaired 98 mustang that i baught and sold(made 3g's on it so **** i dont care lol) and i would polish it out and give it a coat of lsp and no matter what i used the paint would oxidize within a few weeks and i dont know why.
