I'm very well aware of the various kind of silicones as we distributed a line of silicones , but I would make a very educated guess that they are using DMF 350cs or DMF 1000cs in their formulation. The solvents used vary from low aromatic mineral spirits to Odorless Mineral Spirits, which are very slow evaporating solvents. For an experiment, I've been testing solvent/silicone based dressing that I make on my boat trailer. It's going on 6 years now and no appreciable deterioration of the tire.:grinno:
 
I'm not up on this subject, and I'm on my way out right now...but as a general statement there is nothing that makes rubbers and solvents incompatible, although there are certain rubbers that are affected by certain solvents...it's just not true that all rubbers are affected by all solvents. I just prefer the water-based stuff for cleanup, etc.
 
I get a week out of ArmorAll or any of the other white water-based dressings (unless it rains), with no browning; I would hope the solvent based dressings would last longer than that.

I dress my tires pretty much every week when i wash, so i dont know how long it lasts....
