Chemical Guys Jetseal WOW

All of this said, if you layer all of these products, you will most likely just end up with what Wet Mirror-Finish could have provided all by itself since its the last product on the list.

Do I understand correctly you are saying not to use wax if one is using jetSeal?

Also, if one was to use jetSeal, and WMF does not belong on top of it, does it belong below it? Or should not be used at all?

JD - you may have broke his heart but you sure saved his back! I know it's fun to rub on your car all day, but if you're just taking two steps forward and one step back, why do it? Those first pics of that Beemer were fantastic! Why screw with that?!

I think you could safely say that it's something along the lines of Zaino CS or Optimum's OS. jetSEAL109 isn't online because it just came out, and CG's hasn't updated their website yet.

It isn't like OS or CS.

...feel free to pm me if you guys want 16oz bottles of the stuff...hands down amazing looking stuff...and the durability is awesome...imo beats zaino and no stupid mixing involved...1/2 oz does my entire 350z....
Let me reiterate JDookie's question: Are you selling this product, or giving away samples? If giving them away, what's the source? Are you financially involved with CG in any way?

Can you describe how you've tested/evaluated the durability of this product?

thanks for the informative post. Ive have over $2000 worth of products in my cabinet and 80% of which I have not used. So ive been a little anxious to put them ALL on!

Trust me, I fully understand! :waxing:

The correct answer to whether you should top jetseal with wax or not, is purely user preference. The reason *I* wouldn't top it with a wax is because, imo, it would reduce the reflectivity of the jetseal, which has perfectly flat and optically clear (like glass) finish. Now, again, this comes down to user preference because you may not like so much reflectivity, and are just using jetseal for the durability benefits alone. If this is the case, by all means, top all you want.

All I know is that BMW looks insane, and I don't know if you could get much better than that!

As far as using jetseal and WMF together, I'm not sure that I would do that. The point of WMF (from what I understand) is that it is a nice one step type product that cleans, fills, and protects all in one step leaving a wet mirror *like* finish at the end. This product sounds great if you don't feel like polishing out defects or doing a multi-step process. The thing is, just like any other one step product, it removes most of any previous layers that were on the paint, which is part of the paint cleaning process. This part of the process may remove some or most of any previously applied layer of jetseal.

On the other hand, if you apply jetseal *after* WMF, I would be concerned about bonding issues which would then have me concerned about durability, and then what's the point?

So, end result, in my honest opinion, I wouldn't use them together. This, to me, is an apples and oranges product selection. There are great uses for both products, just don't think they would go all that well together.

Please justify your personal durability claims. I was under the impressive that this product was just released. How long have you had this product "alone" on your test bed?

TIA

Sorry John :o.

I didn't see your post.

Great minds work alike. :D

I wish he took advantage of all that bright Sunlight.

Is this CG's version of ReJex?? :nixweiss Description sounds the same.

Oh, okay, lol. I thought we missed something big. In this respect, you are correct, they are not the same.

The reason I said you could say they are alike is because they all supposedly provide this hard "glass-like" protective shield.

I've had it for nearly 4 months on my buddies bikes (R1, Aprillia, Ninja6R), they feel and look like I just did them yesterday. Flake/pearl pop is amazing, and the feel is just rediculously slick.

As far as application, I would compre it DIRECTLY to Zaino. Goes on and off exactly the same, very easy.

I'm going to wash my car tonight, it has been wearing Jetseal for one month with NOTHING done in between washes. Tonight I will do a standard CG: Citrus wash, and take pics of the beading. This will show one month of durability.

I just talked to Paul at CG and he said that the WMF is okay to put over wax. The cleaning agents are so mild that it wont take off anything. He said it should add wetness over the finish

Thank you for the explanation of logic behind your comment, it makes absolute sense to me and it is now perfectly clear to me how they fit in big picture.

Hmmmm, I see your point and I will definitely have to ask them are there bonding issues. Until we know the answer, even if durability is reduced what is your guess, would jetSeal over WMF result in higher shine? I am sooo tempted to try that on my black Supra I am prepping for sale and it is bling bling that would be buyers like.

Until we get some time under our belts using these new products, everything up to that point will be educated guesswork and speculation so please keep that in mind. I wish CG's would become a sponsor, and then we could just ask them directly here on the forum.

Anyway, if bonding issues weren't an issue, yes, I think topping WMF with jetseal would provide a higher shine, but that's because I am thinking jetseal produces a higher shine than WMF in any situation. Again, I haven't tried them yet, so I am basing this on the description on the labels, and other info I have received from various sources.

Jetseal is a dedicated, rock-hard protectant that is designed to produce the highest shine possible.

WMF is a glaze which does double duty as both a glaze, and lsp. FMINUS has contacted Paul at CG's and they have corrected us on the fact that WMF is very weak in the paint cleaning dept.

Jetseal isn't a wax though.
