Chemical decontaminants rather than clay?

There are several vendors out there, including FK, selling chemical kits to decontaminate paint instead of clay. Anyone tried these systems? Are they any good? Any advantages over using good ol' clay?

Finish Kare's Paint Decontamination System is OEM Approved so you cannot go wrong. I have used it and would recommend your use a good tar remover like AutoGlym as well after stage 2, for more stubbord stains, then do stage 3. This system removes contaminants from the pores of the paint. Clay bars only shave the head off them and leave the rest behind. Of course the surface will still feel very smooth and look optically very clean using clay but just because you cannot see or feel contaminants, does not mean they no longer exist.

#2180 + Pink Wax + #425 will do the biz for a combination of looks & durability.

Alternatively #2180 + #1000p for really long lasting durability.

A Good days work !

AutoInt's ABC system has worked well for me. It's worth doing a search on as we've gone over this subject numerous times. Some people have a pronounced preference for one system or the other.
