Chem G's CW+G experience

So Finally got a 2 bucket system (w/ 1 guard) from CG guyz.

It came with Citrus Wash+gloss wash, sheep skin-like mitt + sample of some spray smart wax. I was like sweet, new stuff to try out!

Decided to try the wash 2 weeks ago on 2 month old Subaru (that gets weekly-ish ONR washes. Garage parked at night. Out during day). Also decided to try the sheepskin-like mitt that came with. (I usually get the dread-looking MF mitts).

First thing I noticed (and had read about) was that the CWG foamed quite a bit. Decided to use as much foam as I could (by hand) and let it soak (top to bottom) and gently wash the car...

...Bottom line, after drying, it didn't feel like the wash really 'washed'. The paint still felt 'dirty' especially on the bumper and lower side skirts.

I made sure to use 1 oz for 4 of water. I did a regular onr wash a week later (last week) and the care 'felt' cleaner...

I kept reading good reports on the CWG wash so I was surprised.

I am confident my ratio was accurate and can only identify the 'mit' as different this time and maybe being 'extra gentle' with it? :ohwell:

I wonder if anyone has some input on what i could do differently (or where I made a mistake).

I got a whole bottle of it, so I'll give it a try again tomorrow, this time with my regular MF mitt and see if it changes anything.

I was just surprised by the results (or lack thereof, and blaming me more than the product) and thought I'd share to get some input.

Thanks for reading. Any opinions/input is welcome.

That is very strange, I have always found Citrus wash & Gloss to be a powerful cleaning soap, infact when used in larger amounts the original CG Citrus Wash will strip wax/sealent off of your vehicle.

For me I found the Optimum Car wash to be too gentle on my Ceramic coated paint and the Wash & Gloss to be much more effective at cleaning dirt- seemed to be the exact opposite for me. Try the CG Glossworkz shampoo that is also excellent.

I love all of the CG products and pretty much prefer it to every other brand out there.

I used a wool mitt once and did not like it, I use a Natural sponge to wash my vehicles with excellent results.

quick update:

Finally washed care again, this time using my 'traditional' wash mit medium and results were much better and on par with what I'd expect. Actually a nice gloss at the end too.
