I took my Porsche into the dealership for an oil service yesterday. It came to over $200. :(

Isn't a significant part of that cost the oil? I heard Porsches run synthetic and need like a billion quarts of oil (well maybe not that much) because they have a dry oil sump system.

BTW - how often do you need to change the oil? I heard BMWs are at 10k, Mercedes Benz is at 13k, and Lexus is at 7.5k. Infiniti is at a low 3.5k.

Did you have other work done?

The higher cost of normal maintence does not surprise me, becuse of how little space there is in the engine bay and the overall design layout.

The oil change and topping of fluids was over $200. $70 of that was for 10 quarts of oil. Labor was over $100. I had a couple other things done, but they were covered for free under warranty. The car is a low mileage garage queen. We've only put on about 2.5k since the last oil change 12 months ago.

Woob is partially correct. I retired at a fairly young age and now spend part of my free time playing (I mean helping) at Poorboy's World. My dear husband is still slaving away in the workforce to help finance my detailing hobby. ;)

Edit: Before I retired, I was an Information Technology Project Manager specializing in Software Development.

No, I'm a volunteer. But, I do get to be the first one to play with all the new products. For a detailing junkie, that's better than money! :D
