Cheap QEW equivalent

my sister bought me some meguiars soap strips. they are supposed to provide "monstrous suds" but i have used 3 already and have had suds on top of the bucket but just a good soapy water mixture. i have seen pictures on qew and have read about how it is the "waterless" wash. i would recommend someone try these strips which may be available locally and might cost less.

20 strips per package.

just thought i would mention something like this :xyxthumbs

I actually have one of those but have yet to use it.

Totally different idea, though. This is soap which you have to rinse out (with water). QEW = no rinsing.

I have used 2 packages of those strips, and I am not impressed. They have decent cleaning at best and lack sufficient lubricity for my tastes. They are like normal car wash soap and must be rinsed.

QEW is nothing like those strips.

I wasn't very impressed with the Megs Wash Strips. Comparing them to QEW is like comparing night and day. For something that involves "no rinsing" on my car, I think I would stick with quality and proven products like QEW or Spray and Wipe. Less potential for marring or damage.

I use NXT wash soap in the winter in the QEW method. I usually wash when it's above freezing or I bring the car in the garage and hopefully warm it up to 32*+.

I try to rinse it as well. If I can't rinse it, I would rather have some soap residue on the car than a thick coating of salt and grime.

I have these as well. I use them for wheels. For the cleaning ability I need on my wheels (very little during the warmer months) they're great. One strip and a strong stream of water are great. No need to measure out a rough amount of soap.

Plus they're one of the best smelling products I own. Up there with NXT and SSR1.

But they don't taste like mixed berry and they dissolve on your toungue. :(

i was just saying that when i have used the strips they have not produced suds, so that way you may not have to rinse,

i just brave the weather if i have to and wash the car outside with buckets of water :o

so much for my insight :sosad
