Cheap Easy Car Wax

Thanks for all of the advice! I've decided to go with a cleaner wax. I bought some Poorboys PWC from motorcitypoorboys. Eric is very helpful, and I recommend his site!

I do like the steel wool/scotch pad idea, but the Exploder is a lease, and we have to turn it in a year. :shocked

I also picked up some SSR1 and SSR2 and EXP for my Envoy. Instead of making one look bad, I'll make hers look very good and mine look great! That's more Autopian, eh?

Well, I polished the Exploder today with the PwC by hand. It actually looks good. This vehicle had never been waxed since it was leased 18 months ago. Once the repainting is done, I'll give it a more comprehensive treatment (SSR2 - SSR1 - EXP).

First, I need to get a PC. Coastal Tool is looking pretty good at $120 for the package.

Oops. Too late. Oh well. I was going to suggest using a polish to get the color "back to factory specs" and then put on a coat of glaze, such as Mother's "Sealer and Glaze," as this is bodyshop friendly, and will give you up to a week of protection. But, if the bodyshop is knowledgeable, they'll likely prep the paint properly before painting anyway. I wouldn't doubt PWC is bodyshop safe too.
