Chatters: Chat still works!!

That is like asking why Los Angeles has a larger population than Las Vegas. Autopia has been around longer and is a totally different environment. Besides, one of the reasons Autopia is so busy is because people keep asking the same questions over and over and over again. And you also have members over there that need to create three threads everytime they wash a car. As far as actual helpful information I think you will find that Detail City is just as valuable and you don't have to wade through garbage to get to the good stuff. Just my own personal opinion though...

I would have to agree with that..

Greg

:) Thanks. You made a nice choice yourself.

DC and Autopia go through their spurts of 'rocking'. Dwayne is just super busy with getting the store back up to speed and he hasn't had the time to spend here. Then Fuzz took off to Mexico or something like that. He was sort of the techy for the site I think. I'm sure that Dwayne and Troy will get things cleaned up as soon as they get a chance. DC has awesome moderators who keep things in line very well. Even I have had my wrists slapped by them a time or two. :naughty

I am gonna stop bringing autopia up before this thread goes a way I dont want it to go. I am just gonna say this. If this site ever wants to be a top detailing site and last, I only recommend one thing ... dont silent the users, forum or otherwise.

Something else i thought of, You also have to remember that poorboys and autogeek have their own forums now so that takes away alot of tech articles and reveiws.

Jngrbrdman, You make a good point about autopia having a bunch of trash threads about the same ol' same ol'.

Think of it this way:

Dwayne works really hard, and so do all of his moderators. They dont get any pay for doing this. They do it becuase its a big part of their life and they have the passion to do it. It does take money to operate a site like this though.

The cost is $15 a year for membership which gives you a sig, no ads, chat etc. That $15 a year is $1.25/month or 4 cents a day. Most of the bottles of wax/polish we buy are more than $15 and those only last a couple months. It would be great if everyone would support DC and become a member, I mean come on.. its cheap!

Greg
I would, but money in my experience doesn't exist right now. I get paid and it's impossible to save let alone doing things I'd like to do such as order stuff from the computer, and join sites. :(

There are about 6700 "citizens", about 1300 have been active in the last three months.

Norah...in your spare time ..and I know you have alot of it..can you e-mail the 5400 that have not been active and tell the ...The City is Open..lol...

AL

Is there a way to tell how many supporting members there are here?

Dwayne?

I find it funny that you have to be a supporting member to be able to use the chatroom, but you can use the arcade if you are not. I'm not trying to make a big fuss but to me it should be the other way around.

This was delegated to me from Norah so as a good assistant manager I am delegating to my underlings...

Besides I think she was all misty eyed over a outdated hair cut... I think she said it was some sort of a mullet... but I don't know anyone foolish enough to ware that out dated style... I belive it went out with the Bell Bottom Jeans....:lmfao

Norah...

Could you please compile a list of the non active members and e-mail them and say that..The City is Open...I know you have alot of spare time on your hands...so can you do this by the end of day....you will recieve a good doobee badge for the work....

Please give a status report to BC..as he is counting on you to bring them in the City....

Hop 2 3 4 bring in people thru the open City door...

we are counting on you...

Good Luck

Al

Between work & running my WeedWax Empire, I'm up to my earlobes right now & I've always heard that the sign of a good manager is delegation, so I'm delegating you & BC to get the e-mail campaign running. Here's all you need to do:
  1. click on "Member List"
  2. Sort the list by "Last Activity"
  3. Go to Page 13
  4. And start sending those e-mails . . .
There, see, it's really easy!! :)

I'll check back tonight for a progress report!

All righty then gentlemen, I've given you 24 hours to get this project rolling, how is it going??

Have we had much response from the "inactive" citizens?? Are they giving reasons for their inactivity? Have they found a love other than their cars?? I have not observed a swelling in activity in the City :(

Please let me know how you're doing on "Project Bring 'em Back Alive"!

Norah
