I think that I'm either not old enough or tall enough for this topic that seems to be beaten to death on your thread!

this is a detailing forum so this conversation might be better on a street car website or something like that .. try fresnoracing.net we have members on both sides of the street on this subject ... ron

Why stop at import versus american? Why not debate religion and politics while we are at it? As long as people are going to leave offended and there will be hurt feelings then we might as well go for broke, right? :D Seriously though, I don't think that is a topic that detailers really care about. I care about $40/hr. It doesn't matter to me if the paint graces a domestic or an imported car as long as I get paid in US Dollars. When you are dealing with a topic that is solely based on opinion it just never goes anywhere. Every car has its own thing going for it and "BEST" is so subjective that no car can be defined as such and have everybody agree on it.

However, for the record I have to say that I don't believe that most people are car enthusiasts who pick a car based on where it is made. There are some that go a little OCD on that kind of thing, but most people go for whatever suits their needs the best and if that happens to be an Odyssey instead of a Caravan, then so beit. The fact that one is import and one is domestic probably doesn't even cross most buyer's minds. Even most enthusiasts are probably only enthusiasts because that is the car they drive. Give me the car for free and I'll drive it no matter what emblem is on the hood. Give me my choice and make me pay for it and it can go either way depending on what my needs are. You won't ever hear me say that Imports are better than Domestics or the other way around. Neither statement is 100% true unless you have lost the ability to be objective and are a zealot.
