I've been eyeing this offer:

6 clay for $85.00. I'd never pay for clay lube. I can make my own at a fraction of the cost. FREE: water in a spray bottle.

Even so, that is a great deal for 1200 grams of clay. The cheapest I have found (non-sale) is CM through DetailNet.com for about $18.25/bar shipped to CA. Anyone have a link to reviews? I really like the aggressiveness ofd CM, many are just simply too gentle for a lot of vehicles.

Those CG clay bars look like someone else's that are 4 oz; if that's the case, my spreadsheet says it's not that great a deal (6 bars for $85), neither is the (Autogeek) 4-3oz bars for $50.

Do you know where we can get good deals on clay bars? I was about to order Autogeek's bars.

Autogeek

$49.95 - (49.95 * .1) = $44.96

$44.96 / 4 = $11.24 per 3oz bar.

$11.24 / 3 = $3.75 per oz

Chemical

$85.00 / 6 = $14.17 per 4oz bar.

$14.17 / 4 = $3.54 per oz

My spreadsheet is in dollars/gram...I consider the Griot's/TOL clay to be different ("ball" type) than the others ("bar" type). The ball type is generally the cheapest. The best price I have seen for bar is here http://www.superiordetailsupplies.com/index.php?page=accessories but I don't know of anyone who has used this. The Optimum Clay is on sale at Autogeek right now for $2.49/oz, otherwise at the Autopia store the Sonus Block is in the same ballpark, and the Perfect Shine and Meg's kits are both on sale, good deals.

I'd say that TOL's clay is the best deal around. 8oz bar for $15.95

I like Optimum Car Care's before and after shots of the clay performance:
