Hello everyone

I'm looking for a high quality beauty wax under $100. I have Pete's 53, which I expected to fill a certain niche, but NEVER used it (except for a test trial to see if it'd help avoid water stains on my windows). So, I'm thinking of just pawning my Pete's 53 here and grabbing Souveran (I or II) or CG 50/50... but through out the forum I've heard AMAZING things about both.

Souveran is amazing on red or black... 50/50 has the exact texture of butter... etc.

I have a Space Gray bimmer and plan on using this wax on black cars as well. So, any opinions?

Note:

By souveran II I'm referring to this:

Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax will give you a deep, wet finish will exceed your expectations. car wax, carnauba paste wax, pinnacle

Dont know much about the Chemical guy's 50/50 or Petes...but from what ive read, Pinnacle Souveran will look sharp on solid dark colors (better for non-metallic). And from what people say about Pinnacle Signature series II, its for people with more metallic in their paint.

Any idea how Pete's 53 goes on metallic flake?

I guess I have a bit of an issue, my car has metallics but most customers don't heh.

Why not try it out first? If you're not happy, then try something else. It's ultimately your eyes that make the call, not the opinions of others

I've used both Souveran and Pete's in the past on my Liquid Platinum (dark silver) G35. TBH, I liked the Souveran better. Both looked nice and wet and had a good amount of gloss. Also, both were REALLY easy to use. What I felt seperates them though is the depth of shine. IMO Pete's was very flat looking for a carnauba wax and Souveran had a deeper shine. The Pete's did show off the metallic flake a touch better though.

In my experience, Souveran will give a wetter look. Pete's will "pop" out the flakes in your paint. Both are very nice, but with your metal flakes, I'd stick with Petes.

I have all three and because of the metal flake on my car I prefer the 50/50 first then Petes second and the Souveran third.

The souveran does deaden the metal flake but brings out more of the black in my car. Depends on what you are looking for.

(My personal preference is the Pinnacle Paste Glaz that is no longer made.)

Pete's 53 works really well for metallics, ime. In fact, it made my flecks pop so much that it almost seemed to lighten my pearlescent black car.

I have Pete's 53, Souveran, Signature Series II, and I just picked up some Paste Glaz (which I've only gotten to used once). I have a light silver metallic Acura, and for my taste I like Souveran. To me it gives the paint a warm "glow" for lack of a better word.

The UK CG distributor stated a new wax coming soon on the UK detailing board! So there's a rumor for you!

I think you are sitting on a good fence right now, but with that color car, you will honest to god not see a difference in any of them.

Yea, that is where my mind is headed. I'm leaning towards keeping Pete's for myself and I'm sure it'll look nice on other cars I work on as well.

Petes is a great wax. I have all of the ones you are thinking of. If you are in CT or FL when I am there, I would be more than happy to let you try them all out.
