CFL and regular flourescent lights?

So I'm in the process of purchasing a house that has a nice 2+ car heated garage. There are the old school 4' flourescent balast type lights in the ceiling now, which almost all need replacing. I think I may replace them with the Energy Star Compact Flourescent lights.

Does anyone use the CFL's in their shop? If so, is the look of the light the same as the older longer tube lights? Any pro's/con's that you can share?
