Are soaps such as Car Pro Reset genuinely needed in order to maintain coatings? I ask because I often question the credibility of many detailing companies. Seems like you can get products that will maintain the stitches on your leather seats, and then a different product for the passenger seat cuz it gets less use.....#sarcasm.

ALSO- why can’t I use the same coating I used on paint also on my wheels?

CarPro Reset is not needed but always good to have to use every now and then. Hyper Wash for example gets the job done.

You can certainly use a paint coating on wheels. You may lose a little durability but it works just fine.

I went years with 1 coating that lasted years, and it seemed to not be working so good, until they invented Car Pro Reset Soap for Coatings..
I used it a few times and the Coating was again free of all the soap, etc., stuck to it, and it was BACK !!! :) This product is really slippery on paint, and absolutely rinses really good..And it works..

There are probably other products out here now that will do the same thing; I just don`t know who they are..

And yes, I have always used the same Coatings on wheels, after of course, a really good cleaning and wipe off with Menzerna Top Inspection, and later, Car Pro Eraser when it was invented..

It is so nice to always have really clean outer wheels AND inner wheels without having to break out stronger wheel cleaning products..

I shall purchase it along with cquartz 3.0

Can someone tell me a list of other products I need?

I heard they have a quick detailed spray that’s also a great drying aid

Ech2o and Elixir are two good ones to have. I use Ech2o at 1:20 more often. I let my bro use Elixir as often as he likes.
 
Try ech2o for axwaterless or QD, it’s awesome. I’ve read that paint coatings fan be glossier than wheel coatings.

If your wheels have a matte or satin finish I would look for a wheel coating. If stock wheels a CaQUK 3.0 should be good although as Guz mentioned may not be as durable

Reload is ok. My preference is Elixir if I had to choose between the two. Reload looses its hydrophobic properties after a couple washes and it looks a bit hydrophilic. Gives a false impression that the coating has failed.

The only downside is Elixir can’t be used after the last coat of CQUK an hour or so after application. Pick up the small bottle of Reload if anything.

I would actually consider Gliss. It will add slickness and you don’t need to top it as often.

As mentioned Echo is really nice. Leaves a nice overall glossy finish and slickness. Great ads drying aid.
 
If going to top with sio2 spray i use PA cosmic spritz and it’s a great product. Kamikaze overcoat is another awesome one. Both are pretty expensive though.

In the Reload price range look at Shine Supply products. Clutch is a 10% sio2 topper that is pretty great.

The have several waterless and QD products made for coatings. Haven’t tried Those yet as Ech20 more economical and works great.

None that I mentioned is Carpros except Ech20. It is their waterless was concentrate. A lot of people did not review Car pros Reload well. The sio2 toppers I mentioned are alternatives I’ve tried

CarPro Ech20 - Waterless Wash which can be used as a rinseless wash, detail spray and drying aid. Will impart gloss and slickness with little to protection.

CarPro Elixir - Quick Detail spray that leaves protection behind on the surface. It is derived from Reload, Ech20 and Hydro2 among other things.

CarPro reload - Silica Spray Sealant. The so called typical maintenance product. Leaves protection behind.

CarPro Gliss - Top coat applied over a Cquartz coating. Requires a minimum of 4 hours for application after the last coat of Cquartz. No need for Reload if this is used.

And here the feature *I* liked about having coated wheels was that I didn`t have to do anything special to `em for years on end. I just used shampoo mix, same as with my (conventionally) LSPed wheels, and the only discernible diff was that the coated ones didn`t need redone as often as the ones wearing FK1000P. No special products, no special treatment, just carwash soap front and back each wash for years.

I gather that`s not a viable approach with the non-Pro Coatings available today.

I gather the old OptiCoat/GlossCoat I used was more durable than non-Pro Coatings available today...nothing I read about Coatings recently sounds as good, seems that today`s Coatings need special treatment that the older stuff didn`t. We`ll see about that 22ple stuff I got, if I ever get around to trying it...
 
I’m definitely going c quartz uk 3.0!

I will get the wheel and trim coating as well.

Not sold on the leather coating tho??

And the gliss plus the spray detailer as I love having a frying aid. I can never just dry a vehicle!

You will enjoy Cquartz UK 3.0. It is more durable and a better performer than Gloss Coat.

I have the leather coating as well. It does a good job.

A youtuber raves about the reload spray so I will give it a go.

I’m guessing reload can be used as a dying aid ?

I put cquartz 3.0 on my BMW and it looks great. In my second year (been through one tough Canadian winter as well) and still beading nicely. My topper is PA High Gloss; didn`t care much for the Reload.

You tubers can be paid. I’d read some reviews here and on AG. I’m sure it’s not horrible but their is better out their. Was real streaky and I felt not very durable
