Cement Overspray

I am looking for suggestions on how to remove cement overspray from a Black Jaguar (Front End). I have tried a clay bar and SureSolv to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.:thx

I've had success using straight vinegar. I soaked some paper towels and layed them on the paint. I let it set for about 10 minutes and kept it moist. Then I remove the toweling and sprayed with a hose. The cement washed right off after that treatment with no rubbing, just the water pressure.

Remember to rewax.

If you're not in a hurry I would suggest the following product:

Cement Remover

I was going to order that for a civic until I saw the civic and realized it had oxidized white paint underneath the concrete overspray and met the bitc...er, woman who owned it. I passed on the job. ;)

My understanding is the product works well but there can be a significant dwell time.

cement is just heat treated limestone that makes up Portland cement, theres always sand added for concrete mix and rock aggregate, I'm sure its just sand and cement on the paint.

OK that said the cement can be dissolved but not the sand,

You may use any acid mild of course, vinegar is mild or coffee pot scale remover, you can try CLR from the hardware store, ice machine cleaner discaler, bar keepers friend, all these are acid and will desolve or weaken it, start with the weakest product vinegar like jfelbab said keep it moist. don't rub it off its just going to scratch the hell out of the paint.

had the same thing on a work truck. tried everything with no luck. this truck was no gem so I used all kinds of things in my garage. guess what ended up working?.....K&N filter oil and fingernail!! after I got the cement off, I cleaned the paint with dishwashing liquid, used a cleaner wax, and topped it with paste wax.

Hi,

I am very new here, and from the UK, and am learning loads from all you guys, but coincidentally I have just read on another forum that deisel fuel helps remove cement. I do not have experience with that and it is just a comment from someone else but it may be true ??
