CD2 Engine Detailer vs Meg's Hyper dressing

I'm trying to decide between CD2 Engine Detailer vs Meg's Hyper dressing as the title says. I'm looking for a very glossy show car shine. I've seen the results of CD2 and it offers a very glossy finish that looks excellent. However, it is silicone based and I'm still confused about whether or not I'd like to use something silicone based.

I wanna know how well does Meg's Hyper dressing undiluted or diluted (state dilution), match up with CD2's finish. Can Meg's undiluted shine exactly like CD2 if not better?

PS- Are both safe on Titanium, aluminum, and painted aluminum pieces in the engine bay?

I've used both (although I prefer a non-glossy finish). Both work well and if you don't dilute the HD as much as I did you'll get a much more glossy finish.

IMO there are a few differences . . .

1. CD2 lasts much longer

2. CD2 seems to attract less dust

3. CD2 is a little trickier to apply as it comes in an aerosol can

4. CD2 seems to impart more of a shine to metal parts

5. HD is MUCH cheaper I pay $8/can for CD2 and HD is about $35 for a gallon of concentrate

AFAIK both are completely safe to spray on either metal or plastic/rubber components

How do "we" know this, please? (I sent a note to Turtle Wax about 2 months ago asking this question and I'm still waiting for their reply :down )

I've used CD2 on three cars so far. It looks really good when it's fresh. One of the best underhood detailers I've sampled and it's easy to smooth out when it's wet.

I have not used the Meg's product so I can't compare.

I am a little disappointed at the longevity of the CD2, perhaps I should not be. It just doesn't seem to last very long or it's now so covered with dust I can't tell if it's still on the job. I would not dissuade you from trying it if you can purchase it.

I searched through old threads and someone posted a letter from CD-2 / Turtlewax, stating that there is silicone in it but its not listed in the MSDS because its not harmful.

They're both safe on Titanium as well?

I've never observed any degradation of items either. I'd agree with all the above points

I use the Meg's Hyper at 3:1 for a matte/"like new" original looking finish. I prefer no/low shine so it works great and is cheap at that ratio as well.

Mostly it works well on grained underhood plastics.

Never used CD2 because it was my understanding that it contained petroleum distillates; which degrade rubber over time. I may be misinformed; but its something to look into.
