CD-2 Engine Detailer

There is no cure!
Found a huge stock pile of CD-2 engine detailer at a Autozone in Hialeah Florida. They had like 35 of them. I bought 4 but could pick somemore up if anyone would like...

Send me a PM.

BTW, this is the engine shine product that has been nowhere to be found.

I was rather suprised, I found some in my local AZ also and grabbed a few myself.

This stuff is like gold

I just checked and they don't have it listed on their web site.
You would think that if a few stores was going to carry it they would have it on the web.
Search brought up some CD-2 products but NO engine cleaner

They don't have it listed on their website for my store either. I guess it's one of those things that are hit or miss. You actually have to go to the store to see if they have it that week.

BTW. it's the engine detailer not the cleaner.

Good luck to all in their search

I checked my local AZ store this morning nothing but Black Magic.
I ask the manager if they allowed him to order what he wanted and he said NO he has to take whatever they send to him.

I think a lot of people are trying to take you up on your offer. Your PM box is full! Shoot me a PM when you can. Thanks!

just picked up some cd2 from the az near me, i wanted to see what all the hype was about. i tried it on my engine and it workks and looks ok but i'll stick to malco's perfect10 aerosol dressing. i've been using it forever and i prefer it over cd2. i'll use the cd2 for the wheel wells. detailsupplydepot.com has perfect10 for 5.95 a can. if you try this product you'll like it imo. it does'nt drip or run it fogs a mist of dressing and dries almost immediatly and leaves a high gloss satin finish.

Hey Ron is that were you using on the Vette when we met, if not do you have any pics of the engine dressed with with it.

Thanks

hi jay, sorry to get back to you so late, yes my engine is always dressed with it. cd2 is the only product mentioned on this site that's gotten rave reveiws and great before and after shots of it, but when i tried it i just did'nt like how it ran all over everything, i much prefer perfect10.

I think AutoZone is carrying it again! My local shop had 7 on the shelf and they let me put an order in for four cases as well. I'm going to be rich with CD2. :D

I've been telling everybody about this stuff lately. I've been whoring out some good examples of what it can do too. I used a couple of Legacy GTs as test subjects for this product a couple years ago. The blue one is mine and the black on is a friend's. I did his engine twice with it. The pictures with the engine covers on were only done with CD2. No other washing or prep work was done on it. That kind of gloss is something that will either dry or you can buff it off to a matte shine like the shots of my blue Legacy. I buffed the shine off so the covers were matte looking. I did the same thing on my Corolla engine as well.

You've gotta love this stuff!! I charge $60 minimum for an engine detail and this product practically does half the work for me. All I have to do is clean off the grease and this makes it look brand new! Check these out. Obviously I had to clean up some stuff, but CD2 is the secret weapon to making an engine look like new.

Ok, no more whoring pictures. ;) I just couldn't resist. This is my favorite product of all time. I could detail engines for a living and do nothing else and be totally happy as long as I had a never ending supply of this stuff.

What's your process? I degreased an engine this weekend and took over 4 hours. Customer had a bad leak and needed the engine cleaned before the mechanic would work on it.

I had one of those once. It was on a '70 something Monte Carlo and it was a mess. It took a good two hours of scraping and scrubbing to get it clean. This pretty much outlines my process. I wrote that a year or so ago, but not much changes as far as engine detailing goes. Obviously it is only for the typical engine detail. For extreme cases like when mechanics won't touch it till it gets cleaned out there is a little more work involved, but it is still the same basic structure.

Nice writeup Jngrbrdman. I've seen it before, and used it as a guide when I did my own engine, except I now use CD2 also. I've been able to find a few cans at different Auto Zone's here and there so maybe they are really bringing it back. I hope so.
