cd-2 application mistake

hey all,

I just stumbled across some CD-2 (after lots of searching!) and was very excited to try it out...probably TOO excited. so last night I sprayed it on and it looked awesome...nice uniform coating on everything under the hood.

then I went in the house, and my poor lil' cat got sick, and I ended up forgetting all about it. this morning I checked it out, and there are streaks and splotches everywhere...

:wall

so my question is, does anyone have an idea as to what I could do/use to remedy this problem. I was hoping to not have to unload another quarter (or third) of a can of this hard-to-find product to fix it, so I am open to suggestions. TIA!!!

if it is very splotchey wipe it down a little then just drive to set it

if its not that bad just drive to set

Good luck

Everytime I use CD2, I wipe down everything afterwards and use additional light spritzes of CD2 to make sure all hoses and plastics are even. Also, I find spraying it on to get a good coat uses waaay to much product and doesn't reach all the areas.

So, spray some CD2 onto an applicator/towel/media, and wipedown the parts again. That should do the trick. Dont go soaking the bay again, just light sprays, wipe on.

I had already driven the car to work (45 minutes) so I'm pretty sure it is set...crud. and after my brief experience, NSX...I think that you are dead on. the directions on the car are quite adament about NOT wiping the product, but it really seemed to use quite a bit to get the even coverage. when I get home I'll use some more cd-2 on a rag and see how that goes. if all goes well, I'll snap a pic and let you guys know what happend. thanks a lot!

if that was the case might as well get megs hyper dressing. Supposely cd-2 its a spray on, walk away.

IME, CD-2 works best when you apply liberally, then drive the car as suggested on the can. After getting the motor hot, CD-2 always evened out nicely for me.

FWIW, since I can't find CD-2 around here anymore, I've been using Stoner's Trim Shine with good luck.

i just posted a thread about cd2 on this site a few min. ago i'll breifly say it again here, try perfect10 by malco products, it's an aerosol engine detailer, no drips no runs, just spray were you want and walk away. give a high gloss satin finish. you can purchase it at detailsupplydepot.com for 5.95 a can. i've used it for years and love the stuff. use it and people will want to know what you used.
