2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS. Owner finally replaced his wife's '05 Mercedes ML500 (the blue one I posted about 6 weeks or so ago) with something a whole lot nicer. Interior is definitely an upgrade from the ML and even the previous generation Cayenne. The owner like usual, refused dealer prep and washes his own cars, so the paint was still really excellent. He just wanted the finish refined and protected.

While we were there, he also had us wash his Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 that we detailed a few weeks ago. I figured since after we finished, he pulled it out front, I'd get some sun shots since I wasn't able to the last time.

2013 BMW X-drive28i. Owner had the misfortune of driving through some concrete, crew was cutting concrete on the other side of the road, water was flowing onto the side he was on and it got all over the side, wheel wells, lower molding, etc. He takes it to a car wash, not realizing the concrete was on the car. Apparently, once it was at the car wash, an employee noticed it and tried to get it off, scratching the car up in the process. Another detailer tried to remove the scratches and just put in a bunch of rotary swirls (mostly on the passenger side). To top it off, tons of spider swirls too, most likely from getting it washed at the car wash.

It was hard to get exact after shots of the befores, the clear on this BMW (like all the new not jet black ones I've done lately) was rock hard and it took nearly 4 hours to fully compound it. In this shot, the left side is compounded, door is not:

Meguiars #105 using an American Buffing white foamed wool pad and my Chicago Electric DA, most panels took multiple polishing passes

The X-drive is not 100% defect free but its pretty close. The lower molding on the passenger side will have to be replaced, scratched too deeply in many areas to be polished out. Plus there is still some concrete on them that won't budge. Once the molding is repaired/replaced to the owner's satisfaction, he wants me to go over it again and then apply Opti-Coat. As it is, we are going back soon to Opti-Coat his wife's Mini.

Not sure, seems a touch dark for Monaco blue.

Thanks, Thomas. Love the GTS too, huge improvement over their ML500 with the ugly chrome wheels.
 
I have a client, who sold his X5 and purchased a Cayenne - he says the Porsche is superior in every way.

I am thinking that it could be Deep Sea Blue. Though, Carbon Black is available on an X3, and it throws off bluish hues in sunlight. It is not Monaco Blue. I vote for Deep Sea Blue. But, what do I know? ; )
 
It is carbon black. Scott does great work and provided a lot of education. Once I get the moldings taken care of I'll have Scott Opti Coat it. He did my wife's MINI convertible and now she doesn't even want to drive it because it'll get dirty.
 
Great work as always Scott! Cleaning cement can be a real PITA, 50/50 mix of distilled water and white vinegar helps significantly with getting it off paint, wheels and plastic cladding.
