Cats. Need I say more?

Hmmm, Intel. I don't think shooting in the parking lot would make me a popular neighbor. Even if I explain that the cat was threatening to jump on my car.

Most folks don't understand the way we feel about our cars' finishes. I guess you've noticed that...;)

When I was getting my truck ready for a show I had it parked in teh house garage so it would be insulated, but that is also where the cats like to hang out. If I would walk out there and one would be on there, I would grab some flea spray and hit them with that, and then they would walk off the truck, instead of run and fall down or flail all around. After a few times all I had to do was pick up the bottle and they would get the picture :D

Did a similar thing with a spray bottle of water. Adjusted nozzle for a stream and when the cat in question did something wrong, I would spray him down (Much to the chargrin of my wife, As the cat ran, I would also chase after him spraying and yelling, "NO, NO, NO!"). After a few times, just the sound of the bottle in the next room would send him running.

The reason the kitties are attracted to your car is because it is now wintertime. It is cold outside, so they like the warmth of your car.

The way I see it, a little bit of antifreeze inside the kitties would help them to stay warm on those cold winter nights. The great thing about this is that the kitties actually <strong class='bbc'>like[/b] to drink antifreeze. Just set a bowl out for them at night when no one else is around. Some people say that antifreeze will kill kitties, but I've never seen it kill them. I think that it makes them feel so warm and sleepy that they just curl up and sleep forever!

in my office alone looking at a computer! Cat's always make me laugh, wonder why dog's don't elicite the same feeling?

Dog hair is easier to clean up... Atleast from my experience. Dog hair sticks and just waits to be cleaned up. Cat hair seems to float around in the air and it is thinner so it is harder to get outta carpets.

LOL Didn't we have this discussion once a long time ago? lol It was funny back then too. Cat marks are a beast. Fortunatly I don't have to deal with it just now. The problem I have to deal with is the flying cow that likes to relieve itself above my wife's car when she's at work.

Well, we have two cats, but they are indoors. Unfortunately, the better the finish on your car the more likely it will be scratched. The cat will jump up, realize that it is very slippery, then unleash the claws trying to stay on the car.

I think your best bet is a quality car cover. While there's a chance they will scratch it, my bet is they won't. Forget about sprays that keep cats away and all that. They are useless, especially in the great outdoors.

Good luck,

Mike

THIS IS YOUR ANSWER. SCAT MAT.

I think you can get them at scatmat.com. It is a mat that takes a 9 volt battery and produces a shock similar to static electricity. Put it on your hood for about a week and they will no longer jump on your car. It works great!!!!

lsutiger took the words right out of my mouth. the only problem is you have to plug it in somewhere. one of my customers uses one to keep the cats off his ML320. he bought it at a local pet supply store. told me the 1st time he used it he hadn't read the instructions and left the charge on for a LARGE animal. said he heard all kinds of screeching sounds one day - walked outside to find the cat on the ground walking a step at a time while stopping to lick his paws. it shocked the crap out of the cat. said he instantly got a mental picture of the cats paws billowing out little clouds of smoke from the tips of it's paws. i died laughing. :xyxthumbs
