Cats. Need I say more?

Okay, I like cats. But my neighbor has two Bengal cats that are half wild. I don't have a garage, and these two cats jump on my car. My old car had lots of very thin, very deep scratches on it from their claws.

I'm planning to Zaino the new car with about 6 layers. Will this protect to finish from the claws? Would Klasse be a better choice?

I'm waiting for a Zaino group buy, so I still have time to switch my plans to Klasse if it would provide better protection.

And any other suggestions would be welcome. The force field idea...I wish I could do that....

Thanks.

Yeah, I agree with Brad. Short of a car cover, there's no wax or sealant that can prevent scratches like those. Actually, I remember a company (maybe 3M??) that has a clear film that you apply to the paint surface for protection against stone chips and scratches. So, you could add several coats of Zaino and then use the film for extra protection. Or, just use a cover...:D

I have 1 cat, but it never goes near my car, thank goodness. Of course, a garage helps a lot too.

MEEEOOWW !!!!!!!!!!! Look at a pet web site they sell sprays you can put down to keep them away. Circle your whole car with it.

Noah car cover, crushed moth balls, sprayed garlic water, stay away spray, human urine and a properly place pit bull seems to work for me. :D

I had the same problem. I just have a car port and had to go the way of the Noah. With some practice you can put it on or take it off in under a minute. Keeping the cats away and not to mention the dirt and dust that gets kicked up around here has made the Noah a great investment.

Pics of the cover in my sig.

Too bad they don't sell a polymer sealant with a high voltage field. You could protect against vandals, cats, and UV rays all in one shot (how bout that for the next Klasse All-In-One formulation?) :)

Are you sure you were just kidding? :)

I agree!

We have a city ordinance that prohibits cat (or other pet) owners from allowing their pets to wander the neighborhood. My neighbor and I were tired of the neighbors cat "doing his business" in our landscaping, so we had the city set a trap. The owners had to pay a fine to get the damn thing back.

You might check your local codes. People tend to pay attention when their checkbook gets hit.

Dont by an expensive car cover. My aunt has a 94 Camry she covers, guess what her cats do, use it as a scratch post they have ripped the **** out of it with their claws.

Cats love cool cars in the summer and warm cars in the winter. Don't freak them out scaring them away...they'll definitely scratch your car scrambling to get away. Talk to them and wave your hands and once they hit the ground stomp your foot and shout an obscenity at them. The shouting makes you feel good and maybe the owner of the cat will look out to see what all the swearing is about and help you in the future. Covers are a PITA but effective if you don't do more damage putting them on and taking them off. Deterents like chemicals and certain sound frequencies sometimes work. Cruelty is effective but not acceptable.

Car cover might protect the paint from being scratched, but it has another problem. The cat will love to use it as a scratching post! My brother had this happen to his 350 buck car cover. Boy he was not a happy camper. I think the cat was on his 9th and last life. :D

Somebody should talk to the guys at CMA, maybe they can put it in a Blackfire.

to keep control of those damn cats! The BB gun works good though, cats have a good memory and will associate a pelting with your car and move on. I would tell the neighbors to keep those felines under control though. I'm not fond of felines though.

I walked out of my house one morning when I just had my SS right... only to find clay marks on the edge of my scoop.

I guess the hood was too slick from all of the Klasse or whatever it was and the cat started to clip off, only to claw the edge of my hood to hold tight.... it was fixed when the hood was re-painted but it was a pain. The paint is so easy to scratch in the first place then you have these cats with razor blades or claws.

Huh? Were talking about cats here. Anything goes!:D :D

Kidding of course.

I thought of getting a car cover, then heard others talk about how it sort of encouraged the cats to hang out on the car. That discouraged me. I was thinking of setting up a proximity alarm inside a shoe box or something to keep it from the elements, but since I park in a parking lot, the alarm would go off when neighbors went to get in their own cars--which wouldn't be popular! I'll try going to a pet store and getting the chemical cat repellants. If I'm able to park in the same place repeatedly, that would be helpful. Spots where I live are not assigned.

I'd love to have a way to activate an electric current on the car that I could turn off with the remote unlock! Zap the critters.:scared

I use to have a spary that I used to keep my dog off the couch... It worked for a little while.

I used a BB gun on my neighbors cat to keep them out of my garden... Of course don't hit your car. I don't worry about it though since I'm a good shot. :D

Just the other day I killed a rat that was on my patio. Shot out my kitchen window to hit him too. Got him right in the head. Dead rat!
