Cat Scratches napped by SYSTEM ONE X3 Polish

Lately, it seems the hood of my 99 Cobra has been a feline night club floor! I get up in the AM and get in my car to go to work and there would be tons of muddy cat paw prints all over my car! :fm:

Well when I washed the car I realized that it was more than just muddy paws! The claws were involved too!

So out came SYSTEM ONE X3 Polish with the Edge wool/foam combo pad from the Pro Kit.

I was pleased to say the least! Quickest and easiest polish I've ever used!

Finished off with my sealant that I am developing. (I'm getting close! It's starting to come together but not there yet... still working on it.)

Thanks for looking...

I wish I'd taken some pictures of the beadage yesterday on my hood after we applied that new batch on Sunday. The car is dusty now from the rain. Will be interesting to see how easily it washes off, compared to the area we waxed with the Natty's Blue.

Now, if only you could include a cat repellent in the LSP, you'd be set!

We'll have to include some anti-cat nip in our formula!

Did you need to use the wool pad side, or would the scratch come out with the foam?

You know, I thought about trying that but forgot. I wondered myself if using just the foam would have done the trick. To be honest though, the foam side of my pad finishes really nice. I used a lighter cut wool pad than the one that is included in the SYSTEM ONE Pro Kit. I was using the green wool which is Edge's light cut wool grade.

I know others have used X3 with heavier cut foam pads like Lake Country Orange with great results so I think this polish is pretty versatile. The wool/foam combo pad system is just one way to use it that happens to be very good and easy to use for beginners and intermediate users.

would you mind posting more pictures of your car? Love those cobras

Thanks man. Here is a bunch of pictures from when I last did a full detail. That time I used Menzerna 106ff.

So, you only want a couple weeks of protection? :chuckle:

Car looks great.

Actually NXT 2.0 is 1000% better than the first version. That was almost 2 months ago and it is still beading hard!

Hey Dan, need any cats? I got 11 that would be great for adoptions. I just bought a Honda Accord back in Oct, I have (had) the same problem with cat scratch fever and I used Menzerna IP on a low profile LC ornage pad with my PC and they came right out. The last time I tried FFII and it worked too. Maybe that Honda paint is softer? Oh yeah, they don't like getting a squirt of vinagar - after a time or two they learn car=vinagar!

You up for another detail meet at Brandon's? I'm trying to talk him into throwing one in March.

Nice post, Dan. Glad those scratches weren't too deep and buffed out.

At my former house, there were two Bengal cats that left long, thin, and deeep scratches in my Camry's paint. Those cats were half-wild. I never was able to really get rid of those scatches. Too deep. And the owner wouldn't cooperate in order to give the cats "aversive therapy" (like vinegar diluted in a squirt gun, June). One of many reasons I'm happy I moved.

I have two cats who seem to have caught my evil glare and don't dare get up on the car.

Dan, could you bring some IP and 106ff for me at the next meet up? I know it's a long haul for you, though.

Thanks all... Sam and I were just talking about another meeting. We need to do it! I would be happy to sponsor it with plenty of product from my store. I have some cool stuff in the pipeline too like an amazing new foam cannon.

How was the black Ford paint to work with? I have had great results with it so far. Beautiful Cobra, by the way!

I love cobras! What kind of rims are those?

Thanks bro... the rims are 18" FR500s in a finish they call hypercoating. It's basically that BMW, gunmetal look.

I love working on this paint. Not too soft and not too hard. I think it is just right for scratch resistance and correctability (<-- is that a word!?! If not I claim it! I invented it! LOL!)
