Carpro PERL -- My Favorite Tire Dressing

I like PERL. I always use it at 1:1 on tires and 3:1 on interior plastic and leather. I have some left that is undiluted. I am going to try it "neat" on my tires. Thanks for the suggestion Roshan :)

That does look good for high gloss. I've been using Chemical Guys VRP for my high gloss needs but when that runs out I may have to try some PERL.

Great video ! I do like your videos since they are more personable.

Thank you!

Great job with the video.
Looks like another product I'm gonna have to try.
I've been happy with every Carpro product I've tried.

I think you will be happy with this one as well. Priced well too.

Wow guess Opti-Bond didn't impress you. I'll check out the vid once I get home. I'm curious.

Ah no, I do like Opti-Bond but it wasn't giving me the crazy gloss I was looking for. Opti-bond is almost like a PERL that is somewhat diluted (in terms of gloss).

Can't say on durability of Opti-bond yet though.

For glossy tires, there's nothing better that I've tried imo.

Thanks for watching Pat :)

I've never used VRP, but PERL is real nice for me :)

Cool vid.
I think ya got some trie dressing on your shirt.... :)

I liked my old P Zero tires. You like em ?

Great video Roshan!

What do you do to clean the foam applicator pad? Or do you not even bother cleaning it after?

That sounds about right. How many coats did you do? 1 coat gives you a dark matte look. 2 coats will probably give you the glossy look you like.

Opti-Bond Tire Gel is promoted and sold as a one coat, high gloss tire dressing. I've never experienced high gloss (not that I want that) with Opti-Bond Tire Gel. And then there will be reviews that claim a rich, glossy shine in one coat, or two or three.

I was never able to get a consistent look on Michelin Pilot tires unless applying more than 2 coats to hide dull areas. Couldn't figure it out, so I moved on and did something more important in life. :)

I may try the Perl.

I clean it out with water after each time. After using PERL for a while and loving how it performs, it may have earned it's own dedicated applier though lol

I did 1 coat. I like it, but if I have to do 2 coats and only 1 with PERL, it's just not worth it for me to buy it.

PERL at a 1:1 or 1:2 dilution seems to give a similar look.

Has anyone used this on engines yet as a dressing and can share? I have a sample coming and want to know ahead of time what I might need to do, dilutions etc....thanks

Good video review, Roshan, although my taste in tire dressings is pretty much the opposite of yours. I like a a matte or satin finish so Opti-Bond or PERL 1:1 would be my choice.

Like you, I go for a satin look. Been using Opti Bond for a long time and now found Chemical Guy's Silk Shine. It's sprayable and the overspray wipes clean (wheels). Dries to the touch with no sling.

I'd experiment between 1:1 and 1:5.

It seems most detailers like the clean matte look while I like the glossy get your attention look.

However, I think this is a good video to watch (not trying to toot my own horn or anything) because almost all of my customers want that glossy look. Up until I tried this stuff, I either had to apply the over the counter greasy stuff, which never dries, or apply 3 to 4 coats of a quality dressing. This product for me can be good and dry within minutes ie not sling AND only takes one coat.

Thanks for watching! :bigups

Finally tried that sample of PERL, Roshan. I decided to try it full strength and oh my you weren't kidding about the shine. It's not my preferred look but I can rock this look for a week or two. I'll try this stuff 1:1 next time. I must say it was a lot easier to apply than Opti-Coat.

Nice! Yeah, high gloss and if you wait 15 minutes, no sling!

Do you mean opti-bond?
