CarPro Fog Fight - I finally tried it!

Are you going to try again?

Guess I'm glad I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. I, too, am very picky about clarity.

Oh yes, but I'm going to wait for warmer weather. I'm not sure how this attribute would affect the outcome of my test but it's one of the only variables that I can think of that would change.

This application:

Outside Temp - 60F
Inside Temp - 72
Day - Sunny
Direct sunlight
Glass - Thoroughly Clean
Clean Microfiber towels

Nice review Bobby...

I have a bottle and have tried it on in the inside of the windows of my car. I have tinted windows on the sides and on the back glass and to me they still look okay, but when I did the windshield, it hazed up later on, just like in your pictures. After I first applied it and wiped it down with a mf, it looked fine, but the next day is when the haze appeared, so I cleaned the window again and did another application, same thing, it looked good when I was finished, but later the haze returned. I couldn't stand it so last night I just cleaned the glass with glass cleaner and they are clear again. Only thing I can think of is the temp outside, I will give it one more shot in the spring time when we get warmer weather.

Whoa this looks like one of those products I'm glad I don't have. At least until somebody figures it out. Nothing worse than dirty windshields.

Thanks for updating us Bobby. I haven't seen a review yet where someone didn't have a problem like this. I'd rather have a clear windshield than the haze and no fogginess.

I think this is a product I'll avoid trying until I see that everything is worked out and we find out what the issue is.

Well this goes on my list of things to pass up. I remember when I was young my mom had something to wipe on the mirrors in the bathroom that prevented them from fogging up. I'll have to try and find out what it was. I have no idea if it will leave a haze on glass, but there was no fogging up of the mirrors.

Windshields are already enough of a pain to clean without adding something that may or may not haze up and have to be cleaned off. It also looks like from Bobbys 50/50 post it cleans off pretty easy so is this something that has to be reapplied everytime you clean your windshield. I don't want it to turn into a project everytime I clean my windows.

I'm not one to give up easily so when the warmer weather arrives, or in my garage once the heat warms it up a bit, I'll try it again.

Even though the CarPro video instruction clearly shows applying product to both the suede and the glass itself, I'm wondering if less product would help.

Considering that the coating itself is scary thin, after all we must see through it, very little should be required and the most important component is complete coverage....

I'll also try it on my bathroom mirror and see how it performs using the product on the suede cloth only. In this case less might just turn out to be more!! :bigups

Windows are definitely the least favorite part of a detail for me. Mainly the inside of the windshield and the inside of the back window. I'll have to invest in a glass cleaning tool, but for now it's a pain contorting my body to reach all the nooks and crannies. I'd hate to have to fight with a product like this, and spend time going back over it.

I'm following your thought process here but your truck was 72 inside. Most people have fogging problems in the spring and late fall when it's wet outside. Normally the outside temps are much lower than 72 probably more in the 40-50's so if it's so temp dependant that it hazes at 72 your not going to be able to use it when you need it most IMO.

Whoa! That really looks awful! Glad I forgot to add this to my cart with my latest order now. Thats pretty unacceptable to have it "fog" up a windshield like that.

I realize I said in response to Corey's review that I wasn't going to try it. But I couldn't help myself.

In looking at Bobby's and Corey's results, I surmised a couple of things. 1) The instructions on the bottle and in Avi's update don't yield the results some of us desire and 2) I was certainly not going to apply it to my windshield. Their results reminded me of too heavy of an application and, knowing that Bobby and Corey really know their stuff, I tried to apply the barest minimum (kind of like applying KHGSG). I cleaned the glass and then hit the suede MF with 1 light spray (missing with most of it) and applied it to the front door windows on my DD, really working it into the glass. I let it sit maybe a minute (it was ~60F) and wiped it off with the larger suede MF. Sure enough, streaks just like Bobby and Corey said. So then I went at it with a short nap all-purpose MF - chasing streaks like I would with the poor glass cleaners I used to use. Note - this was still within 5 minutes of application. I then checked to see if I'd removed the Fog Fight and was surprised it was still there. On my way to work this morning (at that time with the rising sun) and no streaks! And the side windows didn't fog either (the windshield did).

So, if you have it and want to give it another go, try this:
1) Clean glass
2) Use very little on the suede MF. I also wrap the applicator with sandwich wrap so it cannot absorb any product.
3) Apply like you are cleaning glass - work it in until you cannot see it. Move to a second window and do same. Go back to the first window with a short nap MF and "try" to remove it. You may be chasing streaks for a while. Go to the second window and do same. Try to do this briskly.
4) Don't use the large suede MF for Fog Fight.
5) Do not apply to windshield until you are satisfied you can apply streak free. I'm still not here yet.

IDK how much durability I have reduced.

Additional note; after opening up the package, I wasn't too upset at all with the purchase - even if I threw away the Fog Fight. I really like their applicator, the MFs & spray bottle (almost atomizes the liquid) and, for the little I paid for it, I think is a reasonable value just for those.

Guess I should have waited longer before posting. As good as it looked this morning and noon, it was worse on the way home. Not so much streaky as filmy. Not quite ready to pitch the spray bottle contents yet but it doesn't get too many more chances.

I am testing and having the same issues. No matter how long I let it cure it still leaves a visible haze. At this point I would never use it on my vehicles. I would think AGand carpro would think about doing a credit for all this fog fight they sold....

Don't you hate it when you think your onto something and have it figured out only to have it rear its ugly head later on. well as you said you like the other stuff that came with it so all is not lost.

Doubt you will see that happen. Maybe.... I bet they are working on a solution for it now it seems no one is happy with it.

Sounds like a hell of a lot of work for a product thats durability is in question. I removed this one from my cart until someone with more patience can figure it out or they revamp the formula.
Thanks for your efforts!
