Carpet/Upholstery Cleaners?

Can anyone tell me what Carpet cleaner they use that can be used with a spray bottle. I know an extractor is the thing to use but I don't want to spend that kind of money and I don't want to use the Woolite solution...tried that before and found it difficult to remove the solution. I feel it's best to go with a dedicated carpet cleaner.

So many choices and I wanted to go with the tried and proven ones that work for Autopians.

I use the 303 Carpet Spray. You can get it premixed in the 32 oz bottle for $8, just to see if you like it. If it does what you want it to do, then you can get the full-strenth gallon for $40, and make your own (I use the 15/1 ratio).

If you want to go that route, there are a few at the local supermarket's (Woollite, Resolve, etc).

Auto Parts Stores usually carry some as well (altough in spray cans = foam).

For OTC stuff, I have had good luck with Folex and you can buy it at home centers (.e.g. Home Depot, Lowes, etc.)

I think this is the same stuff as 303??

I don't usually subcribe to a 'best' of any car care product but 303 Cleaner & Spot Remover comes very close.

My 2nd 'best' carpet cleaner is using the hottest water available and using a pre-soak solution

I got some ZEP heavy traffic carpet cleaner from home depot...

Love it. It's one of the nicest carpet cleaners I've ever tried...

I'm doing it the same way you are shelshel, with a shopvac...

Has anyone ever tried the carpet cleaners from Top of the Line and if so how do they work? The prices seem reasonable.

Second here for Adam's Carpet + Upholstery Cleaner. No foaming, effective for spots, and no smell at all.

I use Blue Coral Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. I prefer to use the spray bottle version, which can be found at Pep Boys for a few dollars. I find it to be very effective at cleaning both floor mats and interior carpeting, plus it has a clean, fresh scent. I have leather in all of my vehicles, so I cannot say how it performs on cloth seats.

i have to agree with JM19. Blue Coral has been working pretty well for me too. And it does smell great. I have'nt tried anything else yet exept for woolite so i cant comment on anything else.

Where can you buy the gallon size?
