Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners

4.1 means 4 parts water to 1 part woolite. I would think that this would be to strong . 6 to one , 8 to one ,or 10 to one would be better.

I'll third that vote. I pick up a few gallons at a time from Lowes.

I just picked up a 32 Oz bottle of Folex from Home Depot on my last trip over the border. I was impressed with how it works. It's very similar to the 303 cleaners. How much do the gallons cost a Lowes?

I agree. I get a residue left over if I mix it any stronger than 6 to 1.

The 303 Aerospace Cleaner/Spot Remover has never failed me, but I don't do minivans/soccermom SUV's, just my own cars.

Woolite may be cheap and easily dilutes, but unless you're going to use a dedicated extractor to remove it, you're going to leave a soapy residue behind that will reattract dirt/grime to the carpet or fabric you're trying to clean.

The 303 cleaner will not leave a soapy residue and will not reattract as much dirt as Woolite will if you aren't using an extractor.

How much does it cost and how big is the container ?
You can get a 1oz trial for under a buck, or a 32oz. size in either the green label or the purple (I think), but I'm not sure of the price. Likely higher than you'd get it for in the States, though, but at least it could be had locally if needed.

BTW,
The Woolite mixture is awesome on leather. Hey, if it's safe enough for your "delicates", it's gotta be safe enough for your leather.

LOL!!!

I kept seeing this Folex comiing up and had never seen it anywhere. I was at Walmart today and saw it for the first time. So users of this stuff, say its a good cleaner?

Where in Walmart did you find it? When I was over the border last I couldn't find it at Walmart . Asked the sales associate and she never heard of it. I ended up getting it at Home Depot. Also seen it at K Mart but it costs almost twice as much as it did at Home Depot.

I saw it in the home cleaning supplies aisle right next to Resolve and other carrpet cleaners. It was a white 32oz spray bottle. I think it was $5.25 for the 32oz siize bottle. That was the only size available. I am going to look at Lowes also for the gallon size.

I don't think they carry it in all the Wal Mart locations. I know the one near me doesn't have it.

I guarantee if you buy Folex you'll be happy with it. Like others I buy it by the gallon. I got mine at Lowe's for around $16. It works really well in my LGCM as well. I've never tried Woolite as others have recommended because I have been concerned about residue as it's not really a product intended for spray on use without rinsing.

I just bought a 5hp wet/dry vac. Should this be sufficient enough to extract water when cleaning the carpets? I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I also have the little green machine which is ok but I feel it needs more of a suction.

Your wet/dry vac will probably work better than the LGCM, but it still won't quite do the job like an extractor will. Now, if you were to figure out a way to use a steamer in conjunction with the vac, you'd be in even better shape. :howdy

I haven't had any REAL bad interior stained cars to do, so far my results have been decent but of course always aiming for near perfect results. I'll get to use my wet/dry vac tomorrow for the first time so I'll know for sure. I'll post before & after pics on a new thread since this will be a full detail. Thanks for the input.

"resolve" carpet and fabric cleaner.......i will never use anything else
resolve evaporates and stains and dirt

When I tried resolve, it caused permanent stains in the seat I was working on; I couldn't get them back out with ANYTHING else I tried. It could just be the material of that particular seat (it was a Buick Rendezvous with that cheap feeling nylon-like fabric) but I won't use Resolve again unless I can prove it'll be safe first.

I use the woolite and water mixed 4 to 1. Inexpensive, and it does an awesome job. I use it with the LGCM and my wet/dry vac.
