carpet extractors

I am useing a mytee "spyder"extractor it works good I have one for my Shop plus my mobile van i use for detailing. The spyder is kinda heavy for pulling in and out of the van but offers great heating and water lift.I need to buy another extractor just woundering what every body is using, and there recommendation for mobile and the shop.

Look into the Mytee Lite (8002) or Century 400 sensei. The lite is about half the weight of the HP60. Another possibility is a carpet spotter machine.

I was at Target earlier and they had two handheld machines for claening carpet. One was a Dirt Devil and the other was a Bissell, that claimed on the box to have "the power of an uproght extractor in a handheld unit". they had a solution compartment that sprays it on, then vacuums it out. Are these what you guys are talking about, or are these crap? They both were right around $39.00
 
I would be interested in those as well... The one from Walmart.



I have heard the Mytee light doesn't heat the water as well to add my 2 cents to the original question.

Currently this discussion involves machines ranging in price from $39 to $1200!

What does everyone recomend if you are doing say about 5 interiors a day? I want something that is reliable. I understand you get what you pay for, so I want to make this puppy last.

5 interiors a day?



Are you in a detail shop? If so, then get the biggest unit you can get since portability isn't an issue.



Check out the last two units on this page. Make sure you're capable of handling the power those units takes. That last one has two 20 amp plugs to run that water heater.

I personally have a Sensei carpet extractor. It got a 5 gallon solution and 5 gallon reclaim tank. It also got one inline heater. It isn't as big as those units above but I have to haul it in my truck and run it off people's house power or a generator.

I hope you've got helpers if you are doing 5 cars a day. That's a ton of detailing. From your posts, it seems like you are jumping into this way too quickly.



Slow down...do some reading...buy some products...start working friends and family first. There's a learning curve beyond reading the internet.

Yep, one runs the water pump, vac and the other is for the heater. I can't remember but I believe it takes a total of around 3400 watts to run. Something a small generator can handle.



I'm more than happy with it. It's easy to move in and out of my truck. I don't have to use a little one where I have to drain and refill it during a detail.

I don't know, most of the generators I am seeing max at about 2800 watts
