Carpet Extractor

I have been looking around for an extractor with heat. Some say heat is not necessary and cold would work better. I WOULD like something with heat option. After looking around for the past 6 months there is nothing I could find at the price I can afford.

Does anyone know where I could get an extractor for a price of $200-400. I wouldn't mind taking one off of a detailers hands in the area. I live in New Jersey and would travel to pick it up. Anyone???

Almost all extractors worth a darn are going to start around $400. A heated unit will add about an extra $100 - $150.

I use an extractor without a heating unit and it works great. As long as you are using the correct cleaner for the spot or stain a cold water extractor will work just fine. I use my extractor as a rinse tool only and never put any cleaners into the rinse water.

If you find a heated extractor for under $500 I would really question its durability.....and maybe if it's stolen:eek:

Another option is to get a bucket heater. You can find these items at janitorial and even horse supply stores. They are heaters that you place in a bucket of water and within a short time you get heated water that you can then pour into your extractor. The better heat units have built in features that shut the unit off when a pre-set temp. is reached.

Adios,

Thanks for the good advice. I tried to win a bid for a mytee on Ebay which ended up at $400. It was 3 stage 100psi and 3 1/2 gallon tank. Very compact and only a year old. It was cold but would have been perfect for my uses. and portable too.
