Carnuba or SG?

Deanski, I love your car. It looks fantastic. Nothing personal against the Zaino system or anything, it's definitly on my list, but with the black daily driver I do too much swirl removal and compounding to keep any one product on there for that length of time. I commonly see people with 30+ layers of Z2 on their cars, and i've never had any product on a car that long. When I get a new car with a perfect canvas to start from, i'm going the Zaino route.



So if you were looking for a one step sealant product to give you better winter protection, what would it be?



Liquid Glass?

Klasse?

Blackfire?

Hands-down: Klasse, with as many layers of SG as possible. It CAN last all through winter. "One step", in this instance, means AIO+SG, however, so maybe I'm not giving you the answer you're after.



I don't really think of BF as a "one step" either, because you have to clean/prep the surface first (with something like AIO, perhaps!).
 
Once again we are getting back to what I've been saying all along. The perfect finish is not a product. Its a process. There is no perfect one step product. They all require prep work. The "perfect one step product" would wash, clay, polish, seal, and wax your car. The last time I checked there wasn't such a beast out there.



Zaino requires prep work. Klasse requires prep work. Blackfire requires prep work. Liquid glass requires prep work. Platinum requires prep work. The list goes on. Prep work is where the shine comes in. Maybe on a brand new car you can get away without doing much and have it look great. Still, its the prep work that makes the car look good. That is the process part. Check out this picture for example. Any guesses what is on the surface of this car?

I know this is a summer kind of process, and I am looking to throw a sealant in for the winter to give the protection that the S100 won't give.



I guess my question, and the origional posters is:



Given a decent process and proper application, what Sealant would work best to provide protection from the harsh elements, yet offer the easiest and fastest application?



I love my summer process, and impress everyone including myself with the results, just want that sealant punch for the harsh winters.

I use Klasse in the winter. The main reason for it is because it will keep me from having to reapply it halfway through the season when its the coldest. I can throw on 5 or 6 layers in October and I am good till March when it gets warm enough to strip it all down and start preping for spring. Most of the swirls from the salt and road crap is just in the Klasse and they come right out when I remove the sealant. Its a great winter protectant for the salty winters in Salt Lake City.



Durability is my primary concern in the winter so looks don't matter as much. Klasse still looks outstanding, but who can tell when its snowing all over my white car anyway? :lol I throw on a layer of P21S on those warmer days and that helps. The sealant is good for the whole winter though.
 
;) Maybe I used Zaino. Its just as deep and wet looking as Deanski's car, isn't it? I said I haven't used it on any of 'my' cars yet. I never said I didn't try it on someone elses.
