Carnauba Wax over NXT?

Does it have to be a paste or liquid wax if your going to layer over nxt?

Layering nxt? must it be a liquid or paste also?

If you are asking about layering NXT on top of itself, it won't, because it has a cleaner.

If you try layering a liquid wax on top of any other, the solvents in the liquid may remove the first coat.

Your best bet is to put down your NXT, either form, and put a paste on top of it after letting it have enough time to cure, possibly 24 hrs.

I have layered S100 on top of NXT and it came out well. Good luck.

I like using Meguiars #16 over NXT at least 24 hours after the last layer of NXT (I normally use two). S100, Natty's, Souveran, Paste Glaz and Pink Wax should all look pretty good over NXT.

So Liquid over liquid is bad, gotcha :up

I heard nxt can be layered though?? From what alot of people say they do 2 coats of it.

I don't see how, I believe the cleaner that is in it will pull the old off. Maybe if it cures, it might, but I highly doubt it because of the cleaners built in NXT.

The cleaners in NXT are quite light when compared to #20, and especially cleaning products like AIO.

It definitely isn't strong enough to strip any previous layers once they've cured.

I do believe that it is more than a few hours. But not totally sure. I just did overnight.

In all honesty, if you can layer NXT despite the cleaners, I think you would get better results if you put a carnauba over it. I love the way that combo works.

The only way to find out is experiment. Try the carnauba on NXT combo and see what you think.

yeh i got loads of waxes etc, and i keep going back to that combo

Mike Phillips stated that all Megs waxes with cleaners will add more protection than they remove once cured.

That says to me you can apply carnauba over NXT with impunity.

From my limited knowledge, i think you will find people use 2 coats to ensure even coverage, and in case they missed anything first time around.

some will use the PC with first coat of NXt,,, then 'by hand' with very light pressure for the second coat, thus diminishing the cleaning qualities somewhat.

For what it is worth, I asked about multiple coats of NXT on the

Meguiars web site. They recommended two coats...

If that is true the twpug could be layered on top without removing the nxt right??
