care for scratched rims

i scratched the outside of my rear rim last week - a bit noticeable. is there any touch up paint or special care for the rims so they don't rust? are u supposed to wax the rims?



i have a '01 bmw mcoupe - i don't know the exact composition of the rims, but they are stock
 
Your wheels are likely clear coated and can be cleaned and protected just like paint. As they are aluminum alloy they won't rust but can become damaged if not cared for. Use a sealant product on them like AIO and you'll be fine.



If the wheel surface is damaged then it needs to be repaired. There are many companies out there that refinish aluminim wheels. Do a search on the net.
