Care and feeding of your wash mitts...

:lol I have a finished basement so there is a little room that has the hot water heater, electrical box, gas meter and furnace (that I add water to every night during heating season). My dad and I call it the "boiler" room. When I was a kid, I was scared of the room, so I would climb the stairs as far as I could go, stretch out my arm and flick off the light switch, hauling butt up the steps. This way I was halfway up the steps as the lights went out :lol My brother used to cram me in there when I was little to torture me.

:lol :lol Actually laughed out loud when i read that. I was the exact same way with my parents old unfinished basement. :lol

I usually wash my towels and mitts on the delicate cycle. I use All Cleans and Softens, and I run an extra rinse cycle also. I usually air dry my mitts or dry them on low heat.

I had mine hanging in the laundry room room, I turned it inside out today. The inside was still very wet.

thanks for the tip!!

I had a hard time getting it turned back to sheepskin out today. I actually tore a piece of the wool off. :nervous:

This is the ultra heavy mit from excel. It is a very thick and high quality mit.

Any other suggestions on how to get the inside to dry? How about stuffing it with newspaper after it air dries for a few days?

Machine wash with luke warm - warm water with liquid detergent, sometimes micropak wash

White vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser

Double rinse and stick on my indoor cloths line in the laundry, no way I will hang them outside anymore

Bird ****, dust, dirt, falling off the line , hot days drying them right out are all reasons why I won't do it anymore

I experienced a similar scenario in terms of a scary basement. My dad installed a shower in our basement. So that was the place to get clean. The scary part as a kid is when I would go down to shower and the sump pump would kick on, the lights would dim for a couple seconds...man that thing was loud and the shower was right next to it!
