Carbon Fiber Detailing

I have a good bit of carbon fiber on my car. Anyone have tips on what wax to use to keep it protected and from fading?

i use a crabon fiber polish...it was designed by turbowax.... i have a friend that distributes the stuff and he gave me a sample...works rather well on my cf hood and trunk...

I always had problems keeping the wax/sealant from streaking bad on the gel coat of my CF hood. I was always sure to keep it really well protected though. After 3 summers though...it still faded on me. I've since had it sanded down and cleared and now it's as easy to maintain as the rest of the car. Good luck, but I don't think there's any way to keep it from fading eventually.

Does CF have a plastic clear coat film over it?. i know that PLEXUS might work. it's GREAT on plastics and painted plastics.

Hey guys, didn't want to get hammered with "USE SEARCH" comments, so I thought I'd just bump this thread since it pertains to my problem.

I just bought a carbon fiber hood and there is some scuffing on it from shipping. I've never detailed carbon fiber before and I'm quite new to detailing overall so I had a few questions.

What pad/polish and speed on the PC would be recommended to remove moderate scratches on a carbon fiber clear coat?

The brand of hood is Seibon, and sorry but I only have access to cell-phone camera right now, I'll post pictures asap.

Thanks

On a e46 Vorsteiner CF hood that I polished during the summer, I found that #83 was great for removing swirls and a followup with Menz FP II brought back the gloss pretty well...

Always use the least aggressive method first! ;)
