Car Wash to Strip Wax

So after going deep into that linked post I came across a video showing Stoner Tarminator working really well at stripping LSP but not coatings :)

I just happened to order two cans of Tarminator because there’s a lot of spring road patching going on causing constant tar sling on the side of my vehicle.

Honestly I’m kind of disappointed to find out that the Tarminator will remove the LSP with the tar, looks like I’ll still be claying the tar off…

I've been using a mix of CGCW Red and APC. I use it in my foamer. 4oz CGCWR, 4oz Megs D101, 24oz water. Then I use the middle setting. I foam the whole car and let soak, then rinse completely. Then I go around the car and foam a panel, wash the panel with a MF mitt, and rinse the mitt in one rinse bucket with grit guard. Rinse the panel, then go on to the next. the water sits flat after this. People have said many times this could just be the surfactants remaining on the surface that eliminates the beading. This could be. Either way, I am going to be polishing which will remove anything that is left.

I unintentionally stripped my Gtechniq G1 off my windows with CGCW red. Went to do a spring clean up after a long Michigan winter and after the windshield coating was completely gone. Foamed first then washed @ 1oz/gal. Nothing I tried brought back any hydrophobic properties. Tried IPA and even clayed thinking just contamination. Nope. Took it all right off. So if anything will be a step in the right direction for stripping LSPs, id start with that stuff

Megs D114 at 1:10 will strip old wax. If everybody doesn't have D114 by now ...shame...

Dangit...shame on me! :) It is on my list for a near-future order though. Although I was planning to use it as a final RW after all the decon before I start polishing.

How about as a final panel wipe before LSP (instead of IPA)? Good idea? Any advantages? More lubricity maybe?
